I played the core set by itself a few times with the "starter" decks in the Learn to Play guide and wasn't impressed. I mildly had fun when I won and had no fun when I didn't. The game then sat on my shelf and I regretted buying it. Then I watched some videos and bought this Elves starter deck, played on "easy" mode, and actually had fun. My opinion changed so much that I went ahead and bought the other starter decks, 2 saga expansions, 2 deluxe expansions and their hero expansions, and even paid too much for the out-of-print Khazad-Dum expansion (bought elsewhere). It even changed my opinion of Fantasy Flight LCGs and I bought Arkham Horror the Card Game and a bunch of its expansions, as well as paying way too much for the out-of-print Warhammer 40,000 Conquest LCG. So in the end, it was even more expensive than just the cost of this starter deck...

I got this deck for our 2-player lotr lcg campaign. It has made for a pretty fun experience so far in over a dozen games. It's easy to use for new players but still requires plenty of strategizing.

I'm just getting into the Lord of the Rings LCG and I got the Elves of Lorien along with the other starter decks. These premade decks help greatly with the core set quests. Worth while if you want a quick way to upgrade your card pool with a deck you can play right away.

This deck is very well designed, contains some really great cards from expansions that are (currently) out of print, and is REALLY fun to play. I will universally recommend this to anyone getting into LOTR LCG.

Bought this as a gift. Item had been opened, cards removed from shrink-wrap and mixed up. Rear insert missing. I think all the cards are there but I'm not sure as there isn't a list of contents.
