I have only used this kit once so far, but my intention was to have parts on hand when I needed them for a project. I am sure I will use these again if the Lord continues to allow me to breathe. For the insertion of threads, it is best to have an extra tool to keep it straight. A hack is to use one of the screws you intend to use and thread it into the insert and then screw thin into your wood hole piece. It is also much cheaper to have stuff on hand versus going out for just one item.

Best to insert with drill press rather than hand held drill to insure insert is screwed into wood squarely. Otherwise just what I needed for my Model Railroad Camera Stand I made to position my camera steadily on my long layout benches (~60 feet long) for focus stacked shots. The Luminar G9 shown on "Post Focus" setting takes a 1 second video, the 30 or so images exposed at different distances. These 30 or so exposures can then be "stacked" in the camera to make a single image using the in-focus part of the 30. This solves the depth of field limitation which all camera-lens combinations have. I made the stand, because I was often unable to hold the camera steady for the 1 second when I leaned over the bench to shoot down its length. An unsteady, blurred image was unable to be processed in the camera, which registered an error. The E-Z Loc's were used to enable me to vary the elevation of the camera over the bench when I needed to shoot with the camera resting on scenery to spare it damage. The 3 E-Z Loc's also allowed me to level the camera when the scenery was not level like a hill. The stand was a very short in height tripod. The camera is shown mounted on a 3 axis mount, but the camera can be mounted directly on either of the two round blocks on the surface.

Awesome for making furniture and such eliminates the use for screws

Wow! These inserts have the sharpest threads I have seen in a brass insert. They cut nicely into the material. The molded case organizes the inserts into sizes, and there is a chart inside the lid that shows proper drill size for each size insert. Impressed!
