I use a lot of fresh lemon and lime juice for anything from cocktails to homemade popsicles. I had a cheap juicer that sits on the counter and you push the fruit on to the top of the juicer and the juice falls down into the reservoir. The problem with these is that you can only apply so much pressure before the whole thing breaks (ask me how I know). And I don't have the patience to wait for the extra time it takes to juice them with light pressure. It was time to try something different.The first thing I noticed was the build quality. It's heavy and feels sturdy. The hinge between the 2 pieces is one of the most important stress points, and feels decently reinforced. The size also surprised me. It's much bigger than I would've thought. It does make it a bit more difficult with small limes, as they can roll around inside before you compress the juicer and start squeezing. So the juicer is too big for most lemons/limes, but not big enough for large oranges or grapefruits. Not a huge deal, but does add unneeded bulk and weight and takes up added drawer space.

I use this for my home bar. This is a pretty well-made stainless steel juicer but it’s bigger than what I am used to. It does a good job with lemons and limes, but I put the halves with the cut side down, contrary to what the product information page suggests. I find that the juice flows better out of the juicer this way. When I put the halves with the cut side up, it seems like the fruit gets in the way of the draining holes. The reamer part is nice but contacts the fruit at an angle when you squeeze it into it. It gets the job done and it's great with big lemons but I will return to my more compact squeezers when I’m home-bartending.

Really gets all the juice out of the lime. We'll get to test it out on our Ponderosa lemons soon! I assume we'd have to cut them up into pieces.
