This battery is no longer made by DeWalt. My drill is an older model but works great. This battery fit perfectly The drill is back in action!

This NiCad used to be $40 each at homedepot before they "became scarce". These are NOT "the thinner series that came with Dewalt flashlight" they are the FULL size that came with the power tools.Everybody wants NiCad not because of longer "mAh": it's because NiCad pack allot of punch AND IMPORTANTLY they continue to recharge (maintaining allot of punch) for - say 10 years. Dewalt canceled them moved to Li which many consumers have complained about.Lithium IS NOT AS GOOD nor as economical for this job. Li hold a charge well: but they dont' have the Amps (the punch) NiCad do - and they are un-able to re-charge after just a few years of heavy use (ie, use with automotive tools as opposed to flashlight use). Both Li and NiCad must be recycled so no help there either. Li are not the right tool for powertools.A few months into it I can review: it packs a punch and holds a charge and hasn't diminished yet. I still cannot rate it higher than Li replacement (those die in just a few years) or compare to dewalt orig (those lasted many years!) because it's a few months and i don't work daily in a shop as i did when i ran dewalt orig. several years w/o failure.
