I bought these drum heads, thinking they were for an acoustic drum kit. Unfortunately, they are designed for a marching band tenor kit and “heads only” set. So, I gave them to the local high school and they installed them on their drum set. They were quick and easy to install, even easier to tune, and they sounded great. Evans is a great name in drumheads, and so they should last for a long time.Just make sure you read the description and know what drumheads you were buying so you don’t make the same mistake that I made.

These worked well to replace heads on our quint toms (well, 4 of the 5 anyway--I forgot that we needed 6-8-10-12-13, not 6-10-12-13-14, but that's my mistake). Luckily, they have a very similar sound to some pinstripe heads from another brand that we had a not-completely-worn-out one on hand, so we're still good to go, and have an extra 14" head that I might throw on one of our drumset toms. They tuned up easily and get a good, clear tone. Be sure to measure ALL of your drums before ordering a set!

I'm sort of "re-purposing" these and using them for a drum set not and marching tenor toms. They sound similar to a Remo Pinstripe, but with even more muting/muffling. In my very very dry sounding room (tons of room treatment), they sort of give off that 70's drum sound, soft and warm, which is a cool sound, but maybe not what I would like all the time. That being said, these heads aren't made for drum sets. I know these will last as all Evans heads are quality. I'm giving these 5 stars because they are a great price for all the heads you get!

I actually got these for my dad who is a drummer using full size drum sets (not marching sets). He needed a few of these sizes so when I saw them on Vine I snagged them right away as Evans is a good brand and he has used this brand before. Upon unpacking he said he can tell they will be good quality and work well for his drums. The price is reasonable too for a name brand like Evans!

My son marches, and we got a used tenor that was in desperate need of replacement heads. While he does prefer the heads that his school uses, he doesn't REMOtely mind these for home use. This was the first time he replaced and tuned tenor heads by himself (he has done his kit and snare before), and he didn't have too much of an issue tightening and tuning them. They do sound good and feel good, but they are a little different than he is used to on his day-to-day.
