Amazing system! If you get an SD card there is no subscription needed. I found out the hard way with my 1st camera. Now that's just a decoy for my longer-range 10' tall security guard. With deliveries and traffic to our doors today, you can't beat being able to check what's happening at any time anywhere. Great microphone and speaker to talk to or tease your incoming or outgoing visitors LOL. Range, graphics, and night vision are top notch. AI motion makes me say hello as it follows me to the door when I get home. Also, the solar charging system has never let me see below 75% charge while running it 24/7 at top settings. If anything, it's too good. Be sure to use your settings for notifications, which is most important if you have a life. If you want, you can actually use the Eufy for weather notifications catching the wind in trees and rain. One of my best amazon purchases.

Great camera. The solar panel is a great feature, which makes it so easy to install and operate, with the obvious convenience of not having to run a power cable. The only caveat I find, is that this camera cannot integrate to Apple HomeKit. I have a few Aqara indoor cameras in my home that seamlessly do so, with the convenience of me being able to access them from my phone and even my watch in one app that also integrates smart speakers, smart lights, smart locks, and sensors. Instead, I have to access the specific app in my phone (Eufy's watch app cannot access the cameras - go figure) to then access the cameras one at a time (they do not show a live feed in the previews, but that has to do with being solar-powered - if I were to run a power cord, they might... I guess). However, it is a solid camera. Resolution is amazing, the IA tracking feature works as advertised, it's easy to setup and configure, and a all-around great camera.

I’m a huge fan of Eufy products and have gradually over time, replaced all the Blink and Arlo cameras with Eufy cams. I appreciate that they don’t require you to have a subscription, but offer one if you do. When we go on vacation I opt for a one month subscription. It’s very convenient. The solar security camera is really easy to install and because it’s battery operated or powered by solar, it can go anywhere providing there is enough light to operate the solar. That’s one of the big consistencies with Eufy, the ease of installation/set up. I was very impressed with the mounting bracket, it made it extremely straightforward to install it over 15ft up a tree using a 10ft ladder. First install the bracket and then slide the camera onto the bracket. The camera can be removed from the bracket by simply depressing the tabs on either side. I would recommend installing it as high as possible to prevent an intruder from absconding with your camera. There isn’t a whole lot of sun available in our backyard so I can’t weigh in on the effectiveness of the solar panel, we might have to trim some branches from the surrounding trees and I’ll weigh in on the solar after it’s been in operation for awhile. The picture quality is excellent. It does not false trigger with cars driving by or birds flying by, but when anyone is in the backyard it will activate and track the individual until they leave the trigger zone. Our deck security light gets triggered during the night and now I’ll be able to figure out who the culprit is (probably feral cats, a bear or a fox). Normally I get up to check, now I don’t have to, I can just check the Eufy app from the comfort of our bed.Update #1. It was lightly raining and windy last night and the camera kept triggering continuously even after it was set to lowest sensitivity and only human detection. Had to shut the camera down to preserve battery life. To say it’s sensitive is an understatement. That is not a good thing. False triggers that result in the camera needing to be shut down means the app needs some work to differentiate between actual intruders and being triggered by inserts, pollen, rain, snow etc. Dropping it a half a star. So 4.5 stars.Update#2. Impressively the camera has figured out the difference between what should be triggering it and what it can ignore. It was raining and windy again last night, much like the night I shut it down due to the incessant false triggers, but tonight, with the exact same weather conditions there was only one triggered event during the night. Back to 5 star rating.Update #3. The camera has been up for a week now and for the duration of the week it has either been overcast or raining. No periods of full bright sunlight. (Early spring here). The solar panel is sitting on top of the camera and facing S, but is also obscured partly by some tree branches. On a good day, it might get 4 hours of direct sunlight. The camera is running solely on solar power. Even after a week the battery has only dropped to 97% on one occasion, the rest of the time it is at 100%. The panel seems to be able to capture the slightest amount of light and run interrupted. Getting more and more impressed with the camera. The picture quality is also spot on.

There are way too many cameras available, and I did the minimal amount of research before buying. So I feel I got lucky on great this camera is. Here's what I like about it:- PTZ camera that allows you to see a very wide view from left to right, and up and down.- Solar panel and battery. The app lets you toggle between the two if you need. The solar panel was easy to set up, and the extension cable provided is pretty long. But it's a USB-C so you could get a longer one if you needed.- ability to record to micro SD card- the camera is easy to mount.- relatively easy installation. It took me several tries to get it to connect but eventually it did. Could have been my fault, not sure.- Image zoom in (8x) is really good- There are 4 preset camera positions.- The iphone app is good- You can view your camera feed from anywhere through the app- not just when you are in the same location. When you are outside your network, you do need to use cell data.- There is no remote control per se, just your phone.Anyway, I really like this product and would buy another should I need to get one.
