I just installed my new outdoor camera last night. The pairing, setup, and firmware update went as smoothly as all my other Eufy cameras.Installation was also easy, almost TOO easy. The magnet mount is about as dead-simple as it gets and seems to hold well. If it moves around in high winds, I might use a little caulk to help hold it in place. I kind of wish there was a native way to mount it more securely to make it a little harder for a miscreant to just walk up and yank it down. I set mine about 9 feet up on the underside of a roof eave, so that's probably unlikely.One small gripe is the cable. To be able to feed the USB tip through a wall/surface, the hole has to be like 3/8" wide leaving a sizable gap around the USB wire. I ended up "precision-drilling" an oblong hole, connecting the two USB plugs together, press-fitting the bulky part of USB connector into the hole, and caulking around it to keep it secure and keep any bugs out. I wish Eufy would provide a grommet of some kind that would fit around the wire and fill the hole once the wire is run.

The camera itself is very durable. It has survived weeks of 40°C in the sun and harsh winter storms with -40°C. I’ve never had any issues with connectivity, even though my router is through two brick walls. I like the look of it, it’s not very noticeable when you’re blankly looking, but if you’re looking for a camera, it’s pretty obvious.The only bad things are mounting and the software. You have to mount it using its magnetic base plate and after a season or two I end up having to readjust the camera. The software also isn’t great. Even with zones setup, It has false detections or lack there of detections about 10% of the time. The app has been reliable in recording long enough to catch whatever is happening however, the screenshots of events and time it takes to load said events isn’t great. So traversing footage isn’t super easy. I have it set up as a safety measure so I’m not too worried, but I would have continuous recording on if I was.Overall, I’m happy with the product and happy with Eufy as I didn’t need to buy anything extra or pay a subscription.

I have been using numerous types of home surveillance cameras for 9 years now, and this camera is by far the best camera I have ever owned. Initially, opening the box immediately displayed a very well put together product. It's small, and feels solid. Installation was a breeze. With one screw to mount the small, round metal plate and that's it. Then the magnetic base mounts to the small, round, metal plate and the camera magnetically mounts to the base. It was unbelievably simple.I downloaded the app and got this camera set up within minutes with no issues. It provides a very clear picture, in fact, it's the best/clearest picture I've ever seen on a surveillance camera that I have owned. The app is very user-friendly and the camera is completely customizable. I have been playing with this camera for a few days now and I can find no faults. The price was excellent and I'm going to be slowly changing out my entire, wired, 1080p security system for these cameras as time and money permits.The best part I love about this camera is how easy it was to customize what areas I wanted triggered by motion. On top of the ease of setting it up, it is extremely accurate. The app asks you if you want person, pet, or all motion. I chose person and I have not had a false trigger yet. I get an immediate notification to my phone and when you click on the notification, it plays a short video clip of what triggered the motion.I also really love the fact that what's on my camera is my business. No monthly fees, no cloud storage, all video is saved to the internal 32 GB microSD.I honestly can't say enough good things about this camera. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

The first one suffered from pink eye - the IR shutter had jammed and wouldn’t open, switching from night vision to colour - you can hear the click when it works correctly.The replacement has worked fine for the past couple of months although I put it in a protective enclosure, which has since been painted to match the fence.The resolution is pretty good and the wifi works well, even across the entire width of my backyard and through the garage.Movement detection is decent, I like their interface on this camera better than the older doorbells. This camera seems clearer too for such a well priced camera.Loving the no subscription![Updated January 2022] Works great in -35c weather, although I do have it well protected out of the wind. IR shutter is still working, check the video feed every day to check on my heat pump and the app-controllable light is quite handy.[Updated August 2024] It took a couple years but the night vision has been burned out by direct sunlight. Odd because none of their other cameras did this. Day light vision still works but as the photo shows, night vision is toast.[August 2024] Err, the camera was fine - the custom enclosure had slid forward and reflected the night light back into the lens. Didn’t notice until I was installing an E340 above the garage door… have five cameras now..[November 2024] hrumph, after years of a solid WiFi it suddenly started having trouble staying connected. The problem turns out the flash card needed to be reformatted and it has worked fine since 🤷🏻♂️.
