've been using the 2D Handheld Scanner for a while now, and overall, I'm quite pleased with its performance. One of the standout features for me is its durability and reliability. Unlike some other scanners I've tried in the past, this one doesn't suffer from erratic battery life, which used to drive me crazy. With this scanner, I can count on getting all my tasks done on a single charge without any unexpected interruptions.However, there's one aspect of the product that left me slightly disappointed, and that's the stand. Initially, I found it frustrating that the stand came flat, which isn't the most convenient setup for most users. To make matters worse, there were no instructions provided on how to adjust it. After some trial and error, I discovered that there's a somewhat convoluted process involved: pressing release clips on the bottom, unscrewing it, repositioning it vertically, and then reassembling it. Frankly, I wish it could adjust more easily without all the hassle.Despite this minor inconvenience with the stand, the scanner itself performs admirably, and I'm happy with my purchase.

I chose this barcode scanner because I wanted to scan all the games, DVDs, Blu-rays and other physical media that I own, the issue is, a lot of the movies and TV shows have been ripped and kept in the attic as backups.I plugged the scanner into my PC and it installed but also made a lot of USB connect/disconnect sounds. Eventually it stopped. I tried multiple scan methods. Sadly the app I wanted to use it with doesn't really support barcode scanners despite claiming they did. That said I did use notepad to get around this. When you scan a barcode it automatically inputs it into whatever is currently selected on your PC, followed by enter. I scanned a bunch of stuff around me without any issues. Then I went into the attic and scanned a couple dozen random items around the attic to see if they all inputted. They did.I then tested the 'memory' mode, where it puts the barcodes into memory. Now, this is a bit convoluted way to do this. Instead of it having a button on the reader or a toggle to switch modes you have to scan a barcode in the manual to change between modes. Once in memory mode it scans each barcode and when you're ready to export it there's another barcode you need to scan to dump the memory. It dumps it in the same way as scanning, the barcode number followed by enter, so they're all on their own line. A thing to note about this is that it doesn't wipe the memory when you dump the codes, so there's yet another barcode to scan to empty the memory. The manual is full of barcodes to scan to change input methods so don't lose it.My biggest issue with the reader is that the manual tells you to update it once you get it... problem is, when you scan the QR code and go to the website, it goes to a Chinese site where it's all written in Chinese. I switched to the Edge Browser because it offers to auto translate pages in another language. I then clicked download. Unfortunately, the website is owned by Tencent, and it insists you login to download the file, moreso, it requires you give them a phone number for authentication to do create an account. That was a bridge too far. I already didn't like the idea of downloading a firmware from a random website but I was not giving Tencent my phone number for no good reason. That said, the firmware update was dated 5-18-2021 so one hopes that a new device today would be at least that up to date. It also worked just fine without the firmware update that I can't download.Oh, and when it goes to sleep it puts out a very loud beep that has made me jump every time. There are codes in the manual to turn on/off the sound as well as turning on/off vibration.The big question is, do I recommend the reader? Honestly, it depends on what you need it for and how comfortable you are with downloading and installing files from a Chinese device and firmware from a random download website. I scanned my PC after the device installed and nothing got flagged, so it's likely innocuous, but I know some people worry about such things. Personally, I will continue to use it and it works well enough for what I need it for.
