Me llegó el equipo incompleto y el completo falló a los dos días de uso. Tuve que regresar ambos dispositivos.

I am a developer and I develop inventory management systems. I have a lot of experience with barcode scanners. I grabbed this guy to connect to my desktop to validate test results from a system I am developing. The scanner is easy to configure and the scans are fast, crisp, and accurate. The range is very good - I was able to move the scanner further away from the base system as I would expect would ever be needed in use.Since this is a keyboard wedge scanner - it acts just as if you were typing into a keyboard the code that you scanned. This means virtually any application or website could be scanned into be a full-fledged ERP inventory system or just a simple spreadsheet that you are using for asset tracking.

I ordered this scanner to scan library books. The scanner came with a direction book with barely any directions, but page after page of QR codes. Apparently, the book is only meant for people who already know exactly how to set it up, but not for someone like me who is new to this. I thought I did everything right, but when I tried to scan any codabar code, it read it but added an A at the beginning and end. I tried doing my own research but in the end, emailed the support desk for the manufacturer. They did get back to me in a timely manner, but were no help at all. In fact, when I was asked to send a photo of the library barcode I was scanning, they sent back that THEY were able to scan it without the added letter at the beginning and end. It really didn't help me to know the scanner they have there was working, but the one they sent me is not.I was frustrated, so I put it down for a few days to let the battery die, and tried again. I scanned the "restore defaults" QR code they emailed me (which is also in the book) and tried again. Now it won't scan anything. I point it at a codabar code and it doesn't pick up anything, added letters or no. I point it at any QR code, and nothing happens. It makes a "ding" but doesn't read anything. I've tried the wire to connect it directly to my computer, the 2.4G receiver, and bluetooth. Nothing. Waste of my time.I would not recommend this product, and I would not recommend their support desk help.

I was in the process of writing the review comments below, when the scanner suddenly became non-responsive after working fine for 2+ hours. At first I thought it strange that there was no warning to indicate that the battery was very low. Pressing the button did not do anything, but the User Manual does say: “[If] the scanner does not respond. Please charge the scanner at least 30 minutes.”So I plugged in the provided USB-C cable and started charging it - there was a red glow inside the unit to show it was charging. I tried pressing the trigger while it was charging, but still nothing so I thought apparently you can’t use the scanner while it is being charged. I was going to suggest to just charge it overnight before using it, or at least scan the “battery reserve” QRC to check the battery status before using it. I suppose this is good advice in any case. The red charging glow did not stay on long, but even after hours of charging the scanner, I could not get it to turn on. It did not even make a beep when I pressed the trigger, but the red “charging” LED stopped glowing and there was the faintest flicker of green (or blue?) LED light inside whenever I pressed the scan trigger. Even that stopped after trying just a few times. So I put it back on the charger for 24 hours. Still nothing. The User Manual goes on to say:“If the scanner still cannot start, this indicates that the battery is [sic] broken and needs to be replaced.” (There are no instructions on how to replace the battery in the User Manual.) I opened the scanner to access and test the battery separately. The battery showed that it was fully charged.I think the scanner died. Sometimes this happens to a new device and when it does is called infant mortality.Up to this point I had been impressed with the scanner functionality and the price and would have given it 5 stars. But the scanner no longer works for me so I have to give it minimal stars rating. Either I just got unlucky to get one that died, or the scanner product itself is not very reliable. I am unable to determine which.======= Review Comments BEFORE Scanner failure =================I got this barcode scanner because I’ve long wanted to automate the kitchen food shopping list creation – scan things as they are used, look up in UPC database, and make a shopping list. I have tried to use an ancient CueCat scanner but never got it to work properly. The scanner came charged up and ready to go. Watch out for the little blue ziploc bag in the packaging– it contains the micro USB dongle. The super-small USB dongle (named “Dongle” on the end...) took a couple minutes to load all the drivers on my test Win10 system. Slow, but so far, so good. While trying to bring my scanner up, I couldn’t get it to scan to the computer directly, so I scanned the ‘Upload Data’ QRC to see what I had been scanning. I then watched as the device uploaded well over 65,000 space characters before I had to pull the USB dongle out to halt it. Upon firing it up again, I first CLEARED the data! Then I was able to put it into ‘Instant Upload Mode’ and successfully scan barcodes – they numbers started appearing in my text editor. So you should probably clear the data before you try any scanning or more particularly, uploading.I get the impression that you may have to be a barcode scanner guru – or at least have more than a little familiarity – to figure out how to use it. And whatever you do, don’t lose the User Manual! There doesn’t seem to be any User Interface – all things are configured or done by scanning QRCs in the User Manual. There are 25 mini-pages in the manual each having 3-10 QRCs per page. You can download a PDF of the user manual... as long as you have read and noted the URL in the manual before you lost it. This is the site www.jrscan.cn – yep, .cn for China. You might get a warning form your firewall, MS Defender, or other protection SW about going to an insecure site. Proceed at your own risk. Note that this site seems slow and that may explain why it took minutes for the drivers to all get downloaded and installed. The picture of the scanner on the web site does not seem to exactly match the scanner I received, but the name on the User Manual I downloaded is “HC-655WB—JRHC 2D Bluetooth Scanner” not the “652WT” shown in the description. However the silver label on the scanner itself does identify it as HC-652WT.The scanner is light and comfortable to hold. It has a nice finish and is easy to aim. The included stand holds the device for quick access or for so-called continuous scanning where you can just pass the barcode under that scanner to read it.I haven’t read thousands of barcodes, but the scanner feels solid and does behave correctly, so I expect this to be a useful tool for a good while. The barcode scanner promised that it was compatible with WooCommerce and it did not disappoint. We recently expanded our farm website to offer a full e-commerce experience, which created a number of problems along the way. The biggest issue was a lack of a scanning option to take in inventory and process sales. The Wireless 1D 2D Barcode Scanner with Stand worked perfectly out of the box (it even came fully charged). The scanner is truly plug-and-play and I was able to begin testing it within 3 to 4 minutes of logging into our website. The stand that comes with the scanner is well-made and sturdy, and even held up against my youngest son in his attempt to "help" in scanning in inventory. The scanner has a pretty decent distance; I kept the laptop outside the walk-in cooler while I was scanning inventory, and it has yet to even need to receive it's first charge.

This scanner is a great value and works very well with either a wired USB connection or the included RF USB dongle. The included instruction booklet contains configuration codes for a wide array of functions, including the connection mode, scanning mode, etc.On initial use, I had to scan the code to enable 2D and 1D barcodes. Prior to doing that, it just gave an error beep when I tried to scan anything. After enabling the codes, however, it quickly and accurately scanned almost all of the 1D and 2D codes I tested with it.The performance was very fast with a wired connection and fast with the USB RF dongle, but slow with a Bluetooth connection. The stand isn’t anything fancy, but it works to hold the scanner, and includes an Allen key (attached to the bottom) for tightening the hinges once the stand has been set to the required angle. In addition to trigger mode, the continuous scan and auto-sensing modes worked well. In combination with the stand, they allow the device to work as either a handheld or stationary scanner.Overall, this device has great performance for the price, and I can recommend it for users who can use a USB port, either for the RF dongle or a wire. For users who need a Bluetooth connection, my recommendation is a little bit weaker, because of the slow transmission speed, but it’s still an accurate scanner.
