Used this in a spot that had brick to one side. This cover is narrower than many of the others and fit great.

The outdoor switch cover looks nice and seems to be waterproof. The plastic or PVC material should last for many years. The only negative for me is the square screw hole at the top of the plate. I like the look of the old Bell metal outdoor switch covers because all the screws were hidden. The manufacturer should redesign to hide the screw hole or provide a white silicone plug to hide the screw hole.

They were easy to install and the foam seal is great. I still did a bead of paintable silicone, and I'll tape off the edge of the silicone, paint it the house color, peal the tape and leave a nice clean line. I might take one extra cover, and paint it and leave it in the sun and rain for a couple of storms and see if a good primer will adhere to the cover. I do not know, so do not take this as "You can do it."Great covers and they have a strong spring that just snaps them closed. Highly recommended!!!!

... and when they do have it, the price far exceeds the horizontal version. This one was priced right and the extra day or two delivery time was well worth the wait. I'm very pleased to have found this. The installation was a breeze it fits perfectly, and the water resistant gaskets protect from rain or being accidentally splashed with the hose. The spring hinge holds the lid closed securely, but it's much easier for me to open (compared to others that my old hands just aren't strong enough to open.) I like it, and I think you'll like it too.
