Friends had this in their kitchen, so I bought one for myself. This particular bin needs 4 alkaline "AA" batteries (not included). There's an off/on switch. Easy to lift top of bin off to replace plastic bags**. (**A bag of 12 extra strong bin liners came in the box as well.) I wasn't expecting those, so a nice little surprise. I have a black stainless steel fridge, so this is a great addition for my kitchen.

The semi round trash can is absolutely beautiful and works like magic but unfortunately I have to send it back to get something else as it is just too small. I have had my 9 stars garbage for around 5 years and was looking to replace it but it’s been very r tough trying to find a garbage can that is the same capacity, looks better and different brand. I ordered a different brand bc my nine stars actually had stopped working about a year after we got it. I kept it and used it manually bc of its size. You can see in pics I took that is much smaller and the opening is almost very small! Very hardTo throw away bigger amounts of trash or to empty your vacuum! I also ordered the tall eko but it doesn’t look nearly as nice as the semi round! If they keep this exact design and color but made a wider opening and made it a 21 gallon, these would sell so quickly. It is the best and classiest looking out of all them. I’m so sad it didn’t work out

Works as expected. Came with a free bag of trash bags (nice bonus). Uses 4 AA batteries which were not included… I would have preferred the batteries over the trash bags.

We have had ours for about a month now and it has been working great. Batteries seem to last and the motion sensor isn’t too crazy sensitive.
