This screen extender helped me solve a problem, but more on that later. In summary, this was plug and play as advertised. First I tried an android phone, it took a minute to figure it out (change media output to new device, use virtual trackpad to control it). It doesn’t mirror your phone screen but rather makes a new one on the projected device, in my case a TV. Once I figured out how to use it then it was easy, I’m not an android wizard. My iPhone has the lightning connector so I couldn’t test that. For the second test I plugged the transmitter into a laptop, that came up right away and I was able to set it up like any other secondary screen such as mirrored or extended. Two things they could improve, the instructions don’t address each type of device. I’m pretty technical so it didn’t take long to figure out. Also, the transmitter got hot pretty quickly, I let it run for an hour and it stayed at the same temp. I’m not sure if that will reduce its lifespan.Ok here’s the fun part. For my karaoke setup I’ve always had a problem projecting to a TV screen while having the audio go Bluetooth. When you project using airplay or chromecast the audio and video both switch. With this device I was able to send the video to the TV and Bluetooth the audio to a different speaker. This is important because for the karaoke setup I need the audio to go to a mixer. Previously I couldn’t do this but now I can.

Obviously if you want 4K/2160P look elsewhere, but otherwise, this thing is pretty much ready to go out of the box, it's impressive how you can literally plug it into any USB-C (with video out) and it works like some kind of space magic. There's only TWO tiny nitpicks, and that's probably due to the hardware limitation, the dongle itself is kind of large/wide, and so it will probably block other ports. The other problem is there's no power pass through, so if your ports are covered, you might need to connect this to a hub or dongle. That's it!

Nice trinket to broadcast onto the TV from the iPad. However, I think most people use cases at this poitn for their iPads, and this doesn't seat all the way with the case on (at least not with my case on). Also would have been nice if the TV side was powered via HDMI instead of having to run a separate USB-C cable to the TV. Nifty, and would be 5 stars with a little polish.

This wireless transmitter works great. I can transmit from my phone or laptop to my TV with ease.Good quality audio and video. Once plugged in, it only took a few minutes to figure out the set up and get things going. The device feels substantial and strong. Not made with cheap or flimsy materials. We like it and use it often.

I already have few wireless HDMI transmitters and receivers but they are all bulky and need time to get working. This one is pretty compact and the main reason I got EDUP Wireless HDMl Transmitter and Receiver was the USB-C port as I wanted to use it with my phone and tablet.Setting it up is quick and easy. Just connected the part with HDMI to my TV display and the USB-C dongle connects to my phone and it auto detected and started showing my phone screen on this TV display. I have used it for extended hours and didn't notice any display downgrade or disconnection. Very happy with it.
