My grandson 3yr old, loved this. I was disappointed the pieces of the dino and the gem stone were in a plastic bag not in the "dirt" I had to try to hide the pieces when he was opening it so he could dig for them.

My grandson loves all things dinosaur so this was a perfect project for him! It is hands-on and educational at the same time. I don't care what age you are it's fun to find hidden surprises and this did not disappoint. It's a great platform to encourage discussion about dinosaurs, or just to occupy a child so you can have a little break. I don't advise you leave them alone while doing it, to help mitigate any mess that occurs. It is more of a one man job because of it's smaller size so you can just observe and help to keep the mess in one place. I would get another of these for my other grandkids to do!

This ‘volcano’ dig discovery is such a fun set for my dinosaur max toddler. He’s only 2 and a half so it’s fin for us to do together. In the pack your get the volcano, inside the volcano is the ‘Dino mud’ which you dig through using the spade provided. To uncover all kinds of mysteries. (Dinosaur bones, a gem)In the whole set you get: reusable dino dirt, digging tool, Triceratops bones, volcano case with fossil moulds, mystery gem, and dino fact cardThe Dino dirt is reusable, and my son loves to do this over and over. So for me it’s excellent value for money. However I can see how it may be a one hit wonder for some children there for making it quite expensive.

I absolutely had a blast playing with my nephew and this Dino Discovery Dig toy. He is majorly into anything and everything Dinosaurs so it was a win as a Sunday activity. He was very excited with the volcano housing everything and was most excited to have the finished Dino skeleton to add to his collection. With it being 4 plus I was unsure if he may find it a bit difficult as he is 4 but it was ideal for us. He didn’t struggle with it and it kept his attention which was a blessing for everyone! I liked being able to talk about the different elements of the kit with him like the fossil moulds, Dino fact card and the mystery gem. He really enjoyed the playing of course! I think what I like about this the most as a whole is that the dinosaur dirt is reuseable, there are 6 surprises to go through and that my nephew was learning all at the same time! It was a superb buy for a lazy Sunday with the family.

Got kids who like dinosaurs? Do they like digging?This is the Learning Resources Store GeoSafari Dino Discovery Dig with 6 hidden surprises including dino skeleton, fossil mold, gem, dino dirt, mini spade and dino fact leaflet.This pack is not what you think! I thought you'd get a pack of dirt with dinosaur bones to uncover. Well not, it is a plastic volcano case, with a plastic bag of Dino bones, dirt which contains gems which you dig out with spade provided. The dirt is like a hybrid sand / magic sand, as you get a mould with 3 shapes to mould the dirt in. Hidden in the dirt is a gem, random colour.Building the dinosaur is pretty easy enough, a nice skeleton of a triceratops.My youngest liked it, my eldest liked helping her, not sure what we are going to do with the dirt! But luckily you get a plastic case to store it all.Overall for the price this is a relative bargain, so I'd fully recommend as a great stocking filler.
