I was initially looking to purchase a down insert, but stumbled across this and upon reading the other reviews and the details about the item, I wanted to give this a try. NO REGRETS and pleasantly surprised! if you love "weight", but not too constructive, I would suggest trying this insert out!!

What I like:1 super aoft2. High quality, extremely well made3. Even though the silk is on the inside and never touches my skin, the silk inside makes the it very supple. You can definitely tell when using it that the inside is not the standard cotton, down or polyester fill, it drapes like silk because the filling is silk.4. It feels luxurious5. Thin, yet surprisingly warm.What I don’t like1. Oh my gosh, this thing is so hot. I used it on two separate nights (50ish outside and maybe 69 in my house, dry climate) and I was dripping sweat all night.Even though it’s thin it heats like an oven. Yes, I am keeping it and will use when it’s cold outside. It’s definitely NOT a summer duvet (you will die sweating) and it is probably not warm enough for the middle of winter cold nights (40 degrees outside or lower). I would call this a good spring and fall duvet. Don’t be fooled by its thinness, it is surprisingly warm, which is a plus and minus.2. Breathability? I don’t know about that. My body was still burning up. My expensive lightweight Hutterite down seems to be far more breathable.2. Unable to be cleaned and cannot go to the dry cleaners. Honestly I did not see this part before purchasing. What a huge drawback! Yes, I will keep it in a duvet cover and just wash that instead. Even so, the duvet inside can still get dirty or even stinky. I don’t know why anyone would design a duvet that can NEVER be cleaned. Seriously!?

ProsI bought this because I needed a light weight duvet. It is exactly that. The size is exactly as advertised.ConsI believe that in the description, it said it could be washed but in the instructions, they recommend not to.
