PROS-this fires my engine instantly - REALLY lights up the plug, never had it discharge in use - I like having a separate charge port- &- you don’t have to baby sit when recharging this heater -cool thing it doesn’t roll away when you set it down …Cons -cost & gotta keep it charged or it won’t last-this works for me!!!!

My RCATS died and replaced with this so it has the highest standards to live up to. It does well. The lipo power and circuitry ensure it has the power to help with a rich start and a charge lasts a long time.Does all it was designed to do well. If I could improve it I would say: Has one LED for many indications and wish it added a notification for current supplied. Also wish it had the option to separate the glow clip from the driver so the clip weight is not shaking on an engine. This preserves the life of the system and makes the clip, which eventually wears out, a replaceable item.

I love this Glow Plug heater! LiPo batteries. It charges well. And seems to hold a full charge for a long time. It has a red LED indicator on the charger that turns off when fully charged. .On the heater unit a green led until it needs a charge. Then the light goes Red. Or if the Glow pug is bad, the light does not light at all. The charger uses a standard D.C. Charger plug. Not the type that plugs into the end of the glow heater. This is made by Dynamite and although it costs a bit more than other ones, I am really glad I spent the extra dollars. This gets the plug glowing BRIGHTLY! I have used many glow plug systems over the past 20 or more years. This is the very best portable unit. It comes with either and A.C. wall charger with a charge ready light. Or you can get one that uses a USB output. But You need to have a decent power level on your USB jack or it will likely take a long time to charge. I will swear by this unit. I love it. I tried it first on an old glow plug that was well used. It lit up like a light bulb. Stop wasting your money. Try this one. If you don't like it, it must not be charged up. USE all of the standard Lithium Polymer battery charging safety precautions. NEVER charge it near Nitro fuel. And put it in a safety bag or a ceramic bowl. Have it near you while it charges if you can. Generally the newest LiPo batteries are safe but just use caution. OKAY? Thanks for the privilege of letting me be a part of the Amazon Review Community.

I will never, ever go back to a traditional driver/igniter after using this one. After going through 6+ c-cells breaking-in/tuning a new engine and adjusting shift points, I was looking for something to replace the traditional igniter. (The batteries were new, name-brand and still worked fine it other things. They just didn't have the oomph to get the plug glowing brightly to the end.) This was the only one I found that used a LiPo cell, so I got it.After the initial charge, only about 6-7 hours for mine, I put it to the test: I reset the engine to stock settings and gave it a shot. No problems starting at all. Swapped in an old glow plug, fired right up again. I slowly re-tuned the engine and called it a day. The next day, I restarted at least a dozen times messing with the shifting point. Still no problem starting, still the initial charge....Well, it's been a week of bashing/tweaking (ie, lots of restarting). I'm still on the initial charge and plugs -still- glow brighter in this than they do in a traditional igniter with a new battery. You could probably start every vehicle at the track and still have power left. It's noticeably lighter than a traditional one as well. The status light is a nice bonus; if your plug is shot, the light turns red.Pros: Great output and a very long battery life.Cons: The battery isn't user-replaceable without voiding the warranty.
