7000 single braced is a well built, simple, perfectly smooth hi-hat stand. It's as sturdy as you'd want it to be without being any sturdier. It's not as bulky or heavy as the 5000 and 9000 options but is just as smooth, with a classic, sure foot. Perfect for jazz, this doesn't choke out lighter weight hats. Unlike the ultralight 6000 flat hi-hat this comes with a real DW clutch and as far as mechanics go, the 7000 is much nicer. I think it even bests the regular 6000 flat hi-hat stand, which is a good option, but the 7000 is surer and has a more steady foot, given its more robust spring mechanism.

I'm happy with it.Using it w Roland VAD306 which uses only one hat cymbal (was unaware of that before buying) along with a triggering assembly beneath it to mimic the opening/closing of a typical hat. So, because of that, there's no purpose for the tilt adjustment that I use on my acoustic kit. All that just to say that the hat works well- even if not able to utilize all its features.

This is my 2nd DW hi hat from the 7000 series in 22 years. I bought one back in 2000 or 2001. I recently retired it and bought a new and improved 7000 model. This new model is very solid. The only complaint I have with it is that the rubber feet do fall off in my hardware case from time to time. Other than that this is a great gigging low mass stand.

I was specifically looking for a hihat stand that wasn't doubled braced. I have never seen much of a need for double braced legs for my purpose unless loading up multiple items on one, and even then not sure the value.This stand feels great and is very sturdy. Even if I was a heavy hitter, I couldn't imagine it not being able to still fill the bill. (I do have a side snare attached to it and it has no problem.)It allows you to rotate the base so you can keep the legs out of your way with other stands if needed (I don't use one, but it would be helpful with a double bass pedal). It took me a bit to figure out the best way to adjust it (as it wobbled at first, but was my issue not the stand) but once I understood the relationship between the base and the adjustable spurs, the thing doesn't move.NOTE: it comes delivered with minimum spring tension, the manual has a typo, but loosen the drum key screw, turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise looking from the top and it will tighten up, and once you get to where you like it, tightened the key screw back up and you're ready to go.The response is great and with the spring adjustment I can't imagine anyone not being able to adjust it where they like it.It comes with 2 upper rods. I sit high (26") and the way I like my settings the short one just makes it, the longer one is about 4 or 5" longer so no worries on being able to set where you want it.I love the drumkey and holder (very nice touch) I never have to worry where one is.All in all, you can't go wrong with this stand!

Well made light weight hi-hat stand. Comes with a really cool drum key with a special holder.
