This item adds a small storage area to any drill press to hold frequently need bits and other parts. The metal arm to hold it is quite sturdy but don't expect to put a drill press vice on it. I would guess its maximum safe load to be 3 pounds, enough for step drills and standard drill bits to be heald. It already has holes for 1/16 inch to at least 3/8 inch already in place. For step bit you would need to drill holes in the plastic plate but that should work well. I got two of these for my floor and also the table drill press.

Well made, easy to install (less than 5 minutes) and holds what I need to hold on my drill press table (clamps)

Fitted to the column of my 12sp 16mm chuck tall stand easily. Platten has useful drill holes and lip edge to stop roll offs. Solid construction and moves laterally in an arc. Not cheap and fairly slow delivery by prime standards but works well.

Love this drill press attachment. Works great for storing all the drill bits and stuff used for drilling. Solid design. Must have for any drill press user.
