UPDATE:The Customer service contacted me to address the issues with the 1st L20 machine which as a 3 star rating. This is the reason why the L20 is now at a 4 start rating at this time. The customer rep has been extremely helpful and has reassured me that all of the issues were due to a defect in my machine. Once the vacuum has remapped my house and has had the same amount of time as the original L20 (3 months) I will update this review)(The Original review for the 1st L20) I have had my Dreame L20 for 3 months now. Here’s the pros and cons:Con:1 it’s gets all dinged up including the camera lenses. I have once camera lens that has a scratch on the glass all ready.Pro: Once you finally figure out how to put the carpet in your rooms it does a great job on separating long hair so it doesn’t interrupt your vacuuming and the quality of your vacuuming.Con: I’m still learning how to use there app, and I’ve had to delete and reinstall the all because of issues with it mapping out my house and the app not saving its work each the vacuum had a successful run. If you are first using the map and the map shifts and your walls are no longer correct you have to start all over again.PRO: this one it big: it is the first robotic vacuum that has been able to vacuum hard and carpeted floors, BUT been able to actually clean the floors!!! I had another vacuum that is pretty much that same as this except for the mopping of the floors. This vacuum has it!My tips: make sure you allow the vacuum to leave its obstacles when possible, move kitchen table chairs if you can. Their cleaner lasts a long time. I hope my kitchen floor, and hallway every night and 2 bathrooms once a week and the cleaning bottle is at 75% full.Do not use the generic bags they don’t work right yet.The generic main wheel works perfectly only with the side brush and air filter. This is all true if you are reading the reviews as well. All in all I would buy this vacuum again, but I would’ve waited so I wasn’t paying so much money.Update on 1/24/2024!! Now 5 Star Review!!!After having the new vacuum and having it run for a sold 3 months my review for this product has changed. This is an amazing vacuum that is everything I hoped it would be when I originally bought it plus more! My floors have never looked cleaner, it is so much more quieter, along with it using the extended arms like it was suppose to. When it does to the dock and cleans the pads it is no longer loud, but emptying the garbage into the bag isn't the quietest. There are functions that weren't available on the first one 1 received that I now have. There also isn't anymore running into the walls or my furniture. All I have to do is create a short cut or set my schedule and the work is done for me. I couldn't ask for a better system especially with me being disabled. What a lifesaver!!! I would highly recommend!!

We have owned the L20 Dreame for about a month now. We are Retired Seniors. This unit is Awesome so far! I am a technical/mechanical guy! I've been putting this little buddy/maid to the test.My wife typically cleans the floors. I did a lot of research looking at reviews, and decided to buy this one, as a Possible Christmas present! I DO KNOW about buying wives/ladies things like "tools"! It's a very GRAY area (LAUGH)! I took a chance and calculated risk! I set it up before Christmas! SHE LOVES IT!REMEMBER-If you have anything more than a tiny apartment, then you will want a unit that is self maintaining, like this one. Don't go cheapy cheapy!REMEMBER- Don't go cheapy cheapy, Especially if you have pets roaming around! Buying one of these is like buying a computer. Regardless of price, you have to first decide and define what purposes you need it for, THEN buy one that has the capability and capacity that serves those needs! Some BASIC units have a docking station that serves to charge the unit, and that's it. You have to dump the dirt compartment by hand and refill solution by hand as well, if it wet mops. You have to manually clean the Mopping pad as well, by removing it and putting it in the wash machine. This single mop pad WILL NOT be sufficient to clean, any more than a tiny apartment! In the case these BASIC units, if you have more than a tiny apartment, the cleaning requirement and demand will surpass the capability of the BASIC unit. Remember, many of these BASIC units can wet mop as well, with a pad. BUT WHERE DOES THE DIRT AND DIRTY WATER GO? Nowhere is the answer, except for some of the dirt adhering to the Mop pad and contaminated water drying on the floor!NOW FOR THE L20 Dreame-1. It vacuums and wet mops- vac and mop at the same time, vac only, mop only. (use the App to define)2. IT IS SELF MAINTAINING- This thing is pretty smart! It has dual rotating mop heads that detach automatically, depending of the task. The docking station has; a self contained dirt bag, a fresh water tank, a detergent concentrate dispenser and a gray water tank (dirty water). IN OTHER WORDS, it vacuums and/or mops the floor, then sucks the dirt and dirty water out of the robot when it returns to docking station! It alerts you if the gray tank if full or the fresh water tank is empty.3. The cleaning is thorough! My wife is elated with the result. She says that it does a better job than she can by hand! It is smart! While cleaning, it will stop at any point during the cleaning task, and return to the dock when it detects that the mop pads need cleaning. It will dock, wash and scrub the pads, then return where it left off, to continue the task. It will do this AS MANY TIMES as required, until the floor cleaning is complete. It will also suck out any dirt from the robot, while cleaning the pads.4. IS IT CLEAN ENOUGH?- Well this guy/gal takes notes! If it determines that the first pass didn't do the job, it will complete the main task, return to the dock, scrub and clean the mop pads, THEN RETURN TO ANY AND ALL AREAS THAT IT DECIDED NEEDED A SECOND CLEANING!5. It's Intuitive- It initially maps the area by laser. They all probably do some kind of mapping. After that, this one is intuitive. It recognizes doorways, if it detects a doorway, I noticed, it will sketch in an imaginary room on the map, behind the door. Doors open or closed, chairs moved around, things laying on the floor, it does not matter. It adapts EVERY time it is launched, and will clean wherever it can, regardless of the initial map! I you want it to clean under the beds, just make shore you tuck up the bed spread, just enough for it to detect an opening. It will explore and clean. You do not have to lift up the bed spread, all around. It will see it as a obstruction and won't proceed under it, but if you lift it up and leave a small access, it will proceed and clean the entire area under it.6. Carpets, rugs and obstructions- It knows the difference between floor and rugs. The mop pads will lift up and rugs will be vacuumed only. There is a limit, if you have a long pile carpet. In this case, you can specify areas to avoid, on the floor map. You can also specify Imaginary walls, if you want it to "go around"! If you look at my one picture, our dock is in a corner and next to the dining room table & chairs. It initially wanted to meander through the chairs to get to certain parts of the house. I drew in an imaginary wall so it now goes straight out to a clear area before turning. Throw rugs- The robot has some weight to it, so it gets a lot of traction. Throw rugs need to have some weight to them and the edges should not be fluffy. It can push small rugs rather than mount them to vacuum. We just toss them outside when the robot is working.I have removed a throw rug while it was in the process of Vacuuming it! I sat there for a moment or two trying to figure out what the heck happened! It finally decided that the rug was no longer there, so it lowered the mop heads a MOPPED the floor instead!Debris like a leaf that dropped from a plant, may be pushed around, a minor issue!Mapping and Zones- The units will draw a map on the App, and name rooms (room 1, room 2, etc). You can change the map, names and boundaries as you wish. You can instruct to clean any one or more of the rooms, or all (default is all). You can also clean by "Zones", on the fly. The mapping allows you to draw zones over-top of the room layout and you can specify multiple "Zones" on the fly, to clean. Zones are not stored!6. Multiple floor maps (ex- 2nd floor)- We don't have multiple floors but we do have a 3 Season Porch with outdoor carpet, that is not part of our indoor floor mapping, so it's like another floor. You can keep your Dock where it is and carry the robot to the 2nd floor. It will intuitively recognize another floor situation then map and clean it. The App will store these "Other" maps. The only condition is that you will have to carry the robot back down the the floor where the dock is located. Our dock is next to the wall adjoining our outside porch, so I just sit the dock on the porch, in case it needs to empty in progress. In summary, the cleaning is thorough, the maintenance is minimal, the App and logic are Intuitive and flexible and the price is good. I would Highly recommend!

In September of 2023 I purchased the Dreame L20 Ultra directly from Dreame after extensive research. I've always owned iRobot vacuums but after seeing reviews I chose the L20 Ultra, particularly for its mopping style, almost hands-free maintenance and its mapping capabilities. I ran it daily, having it mop once a week and some places like the kitchen and dining area twice a week. Very impressed with the control I had on setting room boundaries on the app. The L20 rarely got itself stuck and its cleaning was great. After about a month, the vacuum motor stopped working and I had to have the unit sent back. Because the unit was brand new and of limited supply there was quite a delay in replacing the unit, and the company refunded me the full amount.I went back into researching vacuum mop combos and I purchased the Ecovacs DeeBot x2 Omni. After running that vacuum for nearly two weeks I realized just how good the Dreame L20 Ultra was. The DeeBot app was not as user friendly and the mapping capability was not good at all. I watched the vacuum for the longest time keep trying to make a turn into a room and it just kept driving directly into the wall until I intervened. The L20 Ultra never had to even touch my walls to know its positioning. The DeeBot did not seem as efficient as the Dreame and took forever to clean, sometimes not finishing a cleaning task in one cycle. I also did not like that I had to add cleaning solution into the water tank whereas the Dreame does that automatically. I gave the DeeBot a chance but had to return it.After more research and considering iRobot and Roborock, I came back to Dreame, knowing how great it was even with the inconvenience I faced when the motor stopped working. In December 2023 I re-purchased the L20 Ultra from Amazon and in April 2024 I had an issue where the water pump failed. Dreame had me send it back to repair it. While it was gone for a couple of weeks, I brought up my Roomba J7+ from my downstairs. The J7+ is not able to navigate as well as the Dreame, especially in dark places. It needs me to replace the mop and wash and dry it after each cleaning. I have to pour liquid into a reservoir each time it cleans and it barely can make it through a full cleaning without me adding more detergent.Since receiving my repaired Dreame back in May 2024, it's been working on the daily. I maintain it according to the notices I get through the app and it does a great job. There has been very few times it got stuck somewhere but it is very rare.So to summarize, the vacuum works great and I would give it 5 stars especially with my experience with other vacuum/mop combos. The two issues I ran into with the product were kind of big deal and a real inconvenience having to send it back and then waiting weeks for a replacement so with considering that, I brought it down to 4 stars. Dreame customer service was great with communication whenever I reached out. I'm hoping the vacuum keeps going strong. I have owned some well maintained Roombas for almost 10 years, so let's see.

*See 10 day UPDATE below.I have five indoor dogs, one (Belgian Malinois) of which is a heavy shredder periodically. Currently, we have snow accumulation in my area (Tennessee). So hair and wet paw tracks are an issue. I have trained my dogs to the “wet feet” command. Upon entering from outside during wet weather periods, I would state “wet feet” and they would sit and wait for me to clean/wipe their feet/paws. Further, the amount of grit and debris carried in from outside in their paws (x 4 per dog) is unbelievable! When you have as many dogs as I do, this can wreak havoc on your back; and especially at my age of 64 years. lol. So, between the grit, wet/muddy tracks, and hair-you spend much time and effort cleaning multiple times throughout each day-wiping feet, sweeping/vacuuming, mopping.Since acquiring this robot, if it’s terribly nasty-wet outside, I still do the “wet feet“ drill, but only if it’s excessively nasty out. My guys come inside onto an absorbent rug, then go about their way. Dried tracks on the floor are no longer a problem. I have scheduled robot cleanings twice per day-(1) midday vacuuming and light mopping in rooms where dogs are, and (2), all rooms vacuuming and mopping at the end of the day (approx 9 pm) when dogs are inside/gone to bed for the night. Then I also have a deep cleaning scheduled for all rooms once per week at 9 pm.The setup and app is not convoluted at all. I suggest you just take the time to review the app and familiarize yourself with it-setup your schedules based on your needs, then setup any shortcuts you might need in the interim of routine schedules. Initially, it seems overwhelming, but it’s really not.I currently have one shortcut set for “pet tracks” and if my guys have tracked and it isn’t in close proximity of my scheduled cleaning time(s), I activate this shortcut and it does a quick vacuuming and mopping of the rooms where my dogs are allowed and have tracked wet/muddy prints. You can setup shortcuts based on your needs per room/zone. The options and pros are voluminous and I’m still learning and adjusting as I go.What I don’t like at all is the cleaning solution situation. You can only use the specified solution per Dreame-and I’m mostly ok with that EXCEPT it is out of stock-everywhere. Another and equally important thing, you have to replace the entire solution container when you run out. There’s no refilling of the container. I find that to be unfortunate in the amount of plastic accumulated and trashed in the environment with each empty container, and most assuredly, more expensive. The solution container should be one capable of being refilled. I’m tempted to remove one star for this, but the robot in and off itself truly deserves 5 stars. That said, SHAME ON DREAME for their (1), failure in their cleaning solution design not being environmentally friendly, and (2), failure to have the cleaning solution available and in stock. If you’re going to design it so only your cleaning solution can be used-then ensure it’s available to your customers for goodness sake! Dreame really dropped the ball, holistically, with the cleaning solution situation.Absent my gripe about the cleaning solution situation- is this robot worth it? It is expensive, by all means; but yes! It is absolutely worth it. It’s been a real back-saving and quality of life improvement for me.PS. In advance, please forgive any typos as I did this review on my phone with autocorrect, which typically has a mind if it’s own.*UPDATE *Almost two weeks into using this robot daily, at a minimum-my life is soooo much easier and my floors are clean. As I have five dogs and it’s wet, winter weather here in Tennessee, I have tweaked the scheduled cleanings due to the nasty wet weather right nite-regular cleanings five days per week and deep cleanings two days per week. I continue to use the shortcut for pet tracks intermittently, for wet tracked paws. I haven’t had my Bissell multi-surface floor cleaner out one time since. Now, does this robot clean deeply like I would? No. But it’s pretty dang close. There’s a few spots in my house it can’t get to such as under my sofa, under the coffee table, my pedestal dining table feet…those are things which will have to be moved under any circumstances to clean underneath. That’s ok.Since this robot was so expensive, I did purchase the 2-year extended warranty for added peace of mind. I was really on the fence with this robot and one of the Roborock’s (7+) and ended up going with this one. No regrets thus far…At all.

It was a great investment done . I checked a lot of robot vacuum but this was one of the best selection I did .1- the Vaccum power is good enough to take most of the dust and dirt from the ground. Best part it has an option to leave the mop pads at the base station while vacuuming floor and carpets.2- the rotating mopping function is needed to remove the stains better rather than a pad just viping the whole house.3- mapping function is good which allows the zone wise cleaning and room cleaning whichever is needed.4-if you don’t want to keep spending money on the dirt bag collector much . You have the manual removal of the dirt from the robo itself.5-easy cleaning of the dirty water collector and adding fresh water to the base station.I would recommend this dreame Vaccum than any other in the market . The built quality is amazing
