DownyPaws Battery Operated Cat Water Fountain, 84oz/2.5L Fursink Wireless Cat Waterer Fountain with Motion Sensor, BPA-Free, Black with 6 FiltersThis cat drinking fountain is GREAT!!1. The battery operated function is really nice to be able to set this where there’s no outlet nearby. So far, the battery has lasted a long time between charges because it doesn’t run constantly.2. This fountain is SILENT! Our older cats don’t like new noises in their space, but this fountain does not seem to bother them. There is sort of a ramp below where the water lands so I think that helps it not sound splashy. It does not sound like a water fountain. It’s just quiet and that’s great!3. The fountain has two settings, a once per hour setting and a motion activated setting. We started off with the motion activated setting but I think that used up the battery faster because it seemed to run even when there was nothing moving. It seemed like shadows could even set it off. After I recharged the battery, I set it on the once per hour setting and I think that’s going to be better for the time between charges. There’s always fresh water in the dish that way and if the cats happen to be nearby when it runs, they get a little surprise drink from the fountain.4. The large water tank is like a clear smokey color, so you can see through the sides to know if it still has water in it. From what I can tell, if it runs out of water, it simply no longer pumps water, rather than continuing to run the pump like other drinking fountains do. There was still water in the tank, so maybe that’s its fail-safe or something to prevent the pump from burning out. I couldn’t say for sure, other than there was still a small amount of water in the bottom and nothing coming out the top until I added more water.5. Charging the battery is not fast, but it doesn’t need to be charged often. There is a red indicator light when the battery is dead. The light blinks blue when charging and is solid blue when done. I would say it took a couple hours to charge, although I didn’t time it. I like that I could leave water in the top dish part and take the spout off of it to charge it. You do have to make sure the two prongs inside don’t have water on them before pushing the battery/spout piece back into place. I used that opportunity to clean everything and swap out for fresh water.Overall, this drinking fountain has been great for the cats and for us too!

This fountain has worked great so far. All the kitties took right to it and there were no transition issues. It comes with 5 extra filters, a cleaning sponge, and a small cleaning brush. The dark color of the water tank does make it hard to see the water level and I have had to use a flash light to re-fill the tank while checking it regularly to make sure it has enough water in it. The motion sensor works well without constantly draining the battery, even in a high traffic area. The charging cord is long and the charging port is easily accessible. Overall, it is a great buy and the perfect size.

This works great. The only negative thing: the dark base makes it very hard to see when it needs to be filled.

I’ve come to love these style water fountains for my cat as the fountain is NOT in the middle, but off to the side. My cat hated the center fountains as there’s not much room to drink with her whiskers.This works well, has a battery powered pump, so you don’t have to have it on an outlet, and holds quite a bit of water.The one star is for its color. The water needs to be changed quite a bit and the unit cleaned. With the smokey plastic it’s impossible to tell if the water is cloudy or dirty.
