I was very pleased with these threads. The tin was not damaged like some reviewers. The floss was just as I hoped, all new colors for me. They are pastel to neutral in my opinion. Looking forward to trying them on a new project.

The new colors have been out a while, but I didn't need them until I found a pattern I liked that called for some of them. At that point I remembered the collector's box that had been advertised and started shopping. When I saw this at amazon, the price was about the same as anywhere else one might look (just a little under retail). The skeins would of course be less if bought individually in a craft store, but getting all at once, in a nice box, seemed convenient and likely to save in the long run (no future trips for other colors as the need might arise, or disappointment when the colors wanted are out of stock). Amazon processed the order and the set came quickly and in excellent new condition despite rattling around loose in their packaging with other purchases. The only surprise was how darn large the box is. I've gotten sets of up to 36 new or themed colors in years past, always in compact plastic boxes/packaging no more than four and a half by six and a half inches (plus about an inch in depth), and I guess that's what I was expecting here as well. While no deeper than those, this collector's box is about seven and three quarters inches by fourteen (yes, fourteen!) inches in size. The thing is plain huge! No tucking this into a drawer somewhere; when the floss is used up (or stored elsewhere), the box could become a permanent holder for something else. There is no hinge on the lid and it (the lid) is pretty shallow, so I don't think it would be suitable as a travel kit (it seems like it could pop right open and spill its contents, though I might be wrong about that). Sitting flat on a stitching table to hold notions or what have you, it would probably be fine. The cardboard sleeve that labels it does hold both pieces together very well if not discarded (I'll be keeping the sleeve for that reason). I don't know whether to recommend this over individual skeins or not, but I did want to share some details on the box for those who might be wondering about it. The floss is, of course, DMC, and the colors are lovely, so if that's what you are looking for, the contents won't disappoint.

This was a gift for my mum who loves DMC. Speedy delivery from America. Only downside was the tin was dented. But mum didn’t mind.

La caja vino abollada y golpeada, pero es el lugar más barato que los he conseguido. Los colores son hermosos. Vale la pena

Todo esta bien, solamente deberian tener más cuidado con la transportacion o no sé porque motivo se abullono la caja de lata.

Mi lata llego un poco golpeada, el producto es genial, incluso DMC coloca una espuma dentro de la csja para reducir el impacto, aunque Amazon debería cuidar mas el manejo de este tipo de productos.

Los hilos llegaron en buen estado, ordenados y con su protección interna, sin embargo la caja llegó machucada de dos de sus lados, lo único con lo que la enviaron era dentro de una bolsa que no protege nada la caja, que es justo lo que uno espera que llegue intacto. Si la ofrecen como "con lata de coleccionista" se espera que esa caja llegue sin ningún golpe.

die so genannte Schmuckdose war schlecht verpackt. Sie hat mehrere Beulen, weshalb der Deckel nicht richtig schliesst.Die 3 Sterne sind für die gewohnte Qualität des DMC - Stickgarnes
