I just traveled to the BVI and it was perfect for small and compact underwater photography options! This coupled with a Divevolk underwater camera/phone case, divelight attachment and wide angle lense attachments was exactly what I needed for a one week sailing excursion!

I’m preparing for a dive trip, my first in over 4 years. I pulled out all of my dive gear and reassembled my camera. Believe it or not, even though I rinsed all the gear before I stowed it away, some of the gear corroded and froze up. That includes one of the ball joints on my camera that holds a strobe. Ys, I know it’s aluminum and aluminum doesn’t rust. But it does corrode, particularly when you combine salt water, bimetallic construction, and time. After wrestling with it for a few minutes, I broke it. Whoops. I’m gonna need a new one.I swapped the DIVEVOLK Ball Joint Clamp into the broken joint’s place. It’s a perfect fit. While I know the pictures show it supporting some puny little flashlight, let me assure you, it’s capable of holding a lot more than that. It’s now the joint between my camera handle and a longer arm that holds a 2.5 pound Ikelite DS161 strobe over three feet away from my camera. It’s aluminum and stainless steel construction is sturdy BUT bear in mind that’s the same bimetallic construction that froze in the first place. So, before putting it away, I recommend a fresh water rinse followed by a liberal application of WD-40.

It is smooth and easy to clamp down, however, it got stuck when trying to loosen it up. I think this is because the washer is metal and not rubber or plastic. I had to pry it to get it to release. I'm not sure what type of metal it is so I can't say how long it will last in the salt. We'll see.

Do not buy products from Divevolk. They do not stand behind their products when they are defective. I purchased the seatouch 4 in July and have only used it once under water. I recently did a dry fit to prepare for my upcoming dive trip and my phone got wedged in the housing. The membrane was destroyed just so I could get my phone out. I reached out to Divevolk and they were quick to put the blame on me. No resolution or assistance at all. I will be returning every Divevolk product I have purchased.

I selected this clamp to proved a means of attaching my OrcaTorch video light to my DiveVolk camera tray. The aluminum and stainless construction has not corroded in a dozen fresh and salt water dives and holds the light firmly. Edges are nicely burnished and the large wing screw is easy to operate even with bulky gloves-on; light angle adjustments are much easier as a result and macro shots don't get entirely washed out or dark. All told, it's a good item and reasonably priced for the quality.
