I would have given this a five star but it lost a lot of heat. I come from the old school where you always preheat things like this. Prior to filling it with coffee, I boiled some water and added it to this. The temperature held and was preheated at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. After putting the coffee in it and after 2 hours the coffee temperature had lowered to about 106 degrees.

This is a very nice beverage dispenser. I used it to serve coffee at a large outdoor gathering in the midwest in the spring. The coffee was piping hot in the morning when we started serving. I filled it about an hour before the event and it was still piping hot when the event started. I noticed the temperature decreasing as more quickly as the event went on (and the amount of coffee inside decreased as people drank it). At the end of the 3 hours, there was a little less than a quarter of a tank left over. The coffee was no longer hot, but it was reasonably warm. Overall, I am very happy with the dispenser. It's nice quality, easy to use and easy to clean. I would recommend to all.

I purchased this container because at work I typically use a water boiler every time I make coffee. My intention was to boil some water and keep it hot throughout the day instead.However, I realized that this container was too large for that purpose. Pouring 8-10 cups of boiling water only filled it about a quarter or a third of the way, leaving a lot of empty space that was a prediction of now being ideal to keep the water hot for more than 2-3 hours. I am certain that a full container would maintain heat longer.At home, I tried it with cold water and because this was drinking water, I filled the container more than halfway. This helped the water stay colder for a longer period than my hot water test.I think the container works well if used correctly, meaning it should be as full as possible to achieve the best results.It’s a nice size for parties or family gatherings, and an added bonus is that it's easy to transport with the handle, making it hassle-free to carry.
