I love my old keyboard but it is not sealed, so I needed a little portable vacuum that is not so strong that it will pull the keys off the board but strong enough to suck up crumbs, paper chips, dirt, dust (and microbes that are probably also inside) from between the rows of keys and the areas around them. It's small and light enough to keep handy in the trashcan next to my desk for small pieces of paper and whatever tends to drop. My desk is a triangular corner desk, so if something rolls farther under the desk, I don't have to bend and crawl down but can use the little vacuum to pull things out, a mouse, for instance, or a ruler. It's just long and strong enough. As far as functions are concerned, I like the fact that, contrary to other portables, it has an actually on-off switch that I don't need to hold down with my thumb to keep it on. It opens with just one easy click, no breaking of fingernails to open it. I even like the red color, which is actually cheerful next to the remainder of the beige, black and white around the PC. Charging it does not take long, I have not run out of "juice" over an 8-hour day -- of course, I don't use it that much, so I don't know how it performs for other purposes like real pets. My car is fairly clean, and I used it there just to see what it will do -- worked fine. If you have lots of fast-food residue there like in the cars of many kids near 18 years of age, you'll probably want the stronger Dirt Devil (this 4 V one is not intended for this purpose anyway.) I don't have any real pets, so I can't say whether pets would accept the little noise it puts out. It's not very loud, I find it quite tolerable, definitely not a howl. Even if you don't have any pets, it's so inexpensive that it's probably worthwhile to keep around for any small and fast cleanup.
