This is great for a first-time triathlete; the only con about this suit is the padding is a little loose and it is hard to adjust to running with it, so I would recommend practicing running in the suit before race day so it doesn't throw you off.

When I look back at some of the competition gear I used in the early days of my racing career, I just shake my head. I mean, how did ever even FINISH at times? I started in 1979, when there was nothing tri-specific available, and the only time you could purchase anything that could be sport specific was at race expos. So now we have so many choices available to us, but frankly, the prices can be out of sight. The same cycling shorts rebranded as Triathlon shorts are far more expensive, for example. And that's the first thing I liked about this tri-suit, as it is a fraction of the cost of the usual one, that is some typically some multiple of 100 dollars when new!It was easy to put on and take off, being stretchy enough, and in my case I should have gone down a size. But it's going to be forgiving if you don't have the physique of an Elite. I wore it for a fast 25 mile bike ride with some hills at the end, and it was perfect. I did not notice the pad at all - this is a good thing for me, as I find most of the padding lately to be excessive in this price range. I had it on over a lightweight cotton Jogbra with my Heart Rate monitor strap, and had no issues with chafing anywhere. The elastic in the legs is adequate, and had I gone down a size would have been perfect.Later on I did a 2K open water, and the suit was just fine. Even though it was a little loose, I didn't feel as if it had turned into a sea-anchor on me. It did not restrict my stroke whatsoever, and when I later tried on a wetsuit over it, there was no problem with the fit.Today I wore it out on a 5K, and again, no issues. I did not really notice the pad when running, and it was cool enough on a warm morning to make the run fun. The bust area is tight enough that I could get by with a cotton jogbra and still have enough support. This is why tri-suits basically have little padding. You will not be able to run a marathon if you have super-spongy "4D" padding - whatever THAT is. The only quibble I had is that there is no pocket for cell phone or keys, but a workaround is to just use a running pouch(Fanny Pack), something I did for many years as a matter of course.I like it enough that I'm going to work it into my gear rotation for cycling, as again, I like a cycling bottom with a little less padding. This is a perfect tri-suit for practicing transitions and doing brick workouts, andhaving a lanyard on the back zipper is a nice touch, too. I wish some of my TEAM USA issue tri-suits had that. Lack of compression? No big whoop. I never worried about this during my career, or now that I'm retired. I only made sure I was covered on the plane ride home, when I put on my compression socks. One thing this is NOT going to be worth a hoot for is yoga, hanging out, or any non-tri activity. But then again, you wouldn't bring a softball bat to field hockey practice, would you?OVERALL - It's perfect for entry level tri-newbies who aren't tackling long distance races. If you are doing Long Distance, then you have been in the sport a while, and have already gone on to 2XU ,DeSoto, Blue Seventy, or Orca by now.

This would be great as a regular one piece but the padding on the backside looks odd for the beach but is not thick enough to be very effective for cycling. This suit should pick a lane. It fit well, even though I am tall, and I appreciated the full coverage it provided. As a suit made for sport I would have liked some support and more coverage in the bust. There is neither. I found myself having to wear a sports bra under the suit. The material is good quality and the long ribbon attached to the zipper makes it easy to take on and off. If you are looking for a performance suit you are better off spending more money on a higher quality suit.

Bought this for the triathlon. The first one did not fit.. If you have an athletic build, buy one size larger, unless you want it very tight.

if you are going to be doing really long distances, you might want to get one with a bit more sturdy chamois, this is great for sprint distance. After the triathlon, I was really comfortable in it and didn't want to change
