Cheap and junky but they did get the job done where I couldn't find anything else. The aluminum frame is weak and the spring will jump off if lifted too high. With a little care, you can get these to hold the light in just fine. They screwed right on to the plastic housing on my recessed lights and had just enough tension to hold the light flush in the hole after installing. Be gentle and you should be able to make them work for you. Accept the cheap made item since it matches the price. They do tell you to install the aluminum plate on the fixture first because it's easier to manipulate the spring in place that way. The leg on your spring needs to be up to work but it almost has to be there to install anyway. THey helped me complete a job where the provided wire spring type fasteners would not work.

No instructions on how to make these work. I’m a physicist and could not figure out how to get the springs in place. Returned.

This torsion spring clip is good for any fixture that needs to be set flush in drywall. Took a while to figure out they work. After fiddling with it for a while an understanding of the way it should function was acquired and the attached line drawing was done.
