This has a very strong magnetic that sticks very good. The battery life is very good. I used it for two days straight and didn’t even use half battery. If you are tired of buying batteries for the first gen laser levels this is the one to get.

I can confidently say that I've used enough laser that I'm giving you a professional opinion on this laser. I use Makita for all my hand tools, but Dewalt is the brand for lasers. I've used a few different off brands, Makita, Milwaukee, and several different Dewalt lasers. I use them to install signing for the largest retailer on the planet. While the off brands work, they don't have quite the range and they're not durable at all. Makita is ok and Milwaukee is terrible.Let's get into the pros of this specific laser:The price is amazing for what you're getting. It works better than the $500-600 Dewalt lasers, in that the vibration that can occur while mounted to a stationary object in large building, is somehow mitigated. I'm usually about 100-200' away from the actual unit, so very small vibrations can cause the beam to bounce.I know this shouldn't be, but I'm pretty sure the laser is more visible as farther distances. I work inside, so light isn't the issue that it is outdoors, and I'm also able to see the beam reflecting off the steel cables I'm using. For me, this laser is visible farther than the specs listed on the box.I love that the battery is mounted underneath. It tends to be more out of the way, and also allows the unit to have a sort of lower center of gravity because it doesn't stick out so far from where its mounted, when using the magnets...which leads me to the next pro...The magnets on these things are amazing. If a wall has a steel corner bead, it will stick to the corner of the wall without damaging anything. This is something that you only get with a Dewalt laser. Now, the larger 360º Dewalt lasers will fall off the wall if you try this. No other brand of laser, that I've tried, has magnets this strong. This is one of the areas where Milwaukee fails miserably.Lastly...pay extra for a green beam. You'll than yourself.
