Tried it once.PRO: It was cheap.CONS: It created gouges in my table, it snagged and tore at my yarn multiple times, it isn't able to clamp properly due to the way the clamp is tightened, and I didn't want to turn without significant force applied.DO NOT BUY THIS!

El platico tiene un aroma muy feo , y no es bueno , se baja por más que lo aprietes al girar el estambre , muy mala compra

Bueno en relación al precio. Algunos dicen que es frágil y puede que si se sienta así, pero es funcional y hasta ahora no he tenido problemas.

...it makes turning skeins into balls much easier. I directly wind onto a ball winder. Still have to hand-crank that one, but that's not too bad.

Poor quality construction, poor design. Vertical support has no support, yarn catches on links. Smells terrible; high VOCs. It's not the first one I've owned or used, so I know that just about any other one would actually work. Spend a few dollars more to get to get one that works.

The price for swifts can be crazy, even though they are such a badic necessity for knitting and yarn winding.This one is reasonable, works well, and does the trick, nothing fancy about it.

I never leave reviews, but I’d like to say I’m very please with this swift! It’s well worth the money!Pros:- it doesn’t squeak!! (Low friction)- spins freely and easily and continues to spin when tugged.- the yarn coming off the swift isn’t stretched as much as with a wooden swift, avoiding garment tension and sizing issues. MajorMegaYay!- simple plain construction- lightweight!! and folds up neatly & tightly!- easy to transport on bicycle.It spins way better than the heavy wooden swifts.Cons:The only annoying part is the yarn catches on the bottom bracing-stays if it you set it up at a higher height; whereas on the wooden one, it slips off easier on the angle. The solution to this is to set it up at a lower level (like a wooden chair seat) so the yarn feeds cleanly from the center.The wing-nut is a bit finicky and sticky; you might have to jiggle it when tightening. You might have to use pliers to tighten it if you’ve arthritis in your fingers. The whole thing will plop down if you’ve not tightened the wing-nut sufficiently. But if it’s tight, it works perfectly.Some of the metals used aren’t premium grade (they’re recycled and mixed), but then again it’s under $20 and not made in Germany. The stays are good quality and the blue plastic covering is good-quality, thick and cleanly applied.To me, it’s worth every penny. If you are semi mechanically-minded and can problem-solve, you’ll love it. It’s not for the simple-minded person who’s has never fixed anything.I’m a professional knitter (sell my work). I’d choose this swift over a wooden one; even as a gift for a knitting friend.
