A top rated review said this doesn't work for a nest gen 3. That's not true, his wiring was likely faulty.The job of this device is to convert line voltage to 24v. That is it. A "C" wire is just 24v. This device is a C wire. At no point could it have done anything other than turned on / charged his thermostat.Works great. Plugs right in, easy to use.

Nest E thermostat wouldn't work with new (2-wire) propane furnace (power error).Connected this to R and C and problem solved!.

I have a two-wire millivolt fireplace that didn’t have a C-wire for my Sensi smart thermostat (which worked as a regular thermostat instead). This very inexpensive adapter turned my simple fireplace into a smart one now controlled by the Sensi app and Alexa. It’s a really good solution to a vexing problem. Includes wiring instructions and a lot of wire to run from the thermostat to the electrical outlet. You can also trim the wires to length.
