This is actually 6mm, which is closer to 1/4". I have an entire roll of very similar stuff that is 1/4" and is too big for my needs. The photos online also show this is a braided wrap, it most definitely is NOT braided. It's a much cheaper wrap and the elastic inside is ONE thick cord, not multi strands. When this breaks, it will be fast and dangerous. Very low quality product and the only good thing I can say is that it arrived on time.

The outside cover looks good. Time will tell along with the weather. So far looking good. C

The true test for any bungee cord is its elasticity over a period of time and exposure to weather. I can't say at this point about the durability, but time will tell.The 6mm cord received, which is also 3/16" as the given size by the manufacturer, is actually 0.229" as I measured by a digital caliper. By my readings it is neither of the sizes given on the site, but very close.I realize that I'm not measuring a hard-surface material and depending how you apply caliper pressure can affect the reading, but it's in the ballpark.

The product I got is not labeled 5/16". It is labeled 8 mm (.315" diameter). While that is very close to 5/16 (.312), the cor I got measured greater than 8.5mm (.335), which means that it is too big for the hooks I planned on using it with. I found a four slightly larger hooks I can barely feed it through and formed two short cords. But now I have no way to use the rest of the cord, until I obtain more of the larger cords. And I am concerned because the cord VERY stiff. Iorry that it will break prematurely in my outdoor application. The sun and rain attacks bungee cords very quickly.The color was as advertised.
