Probably the best socks I ever bought. Warm and comfortable.

A friend of mine suggested he rarely bought socks as he tends to spend money on them whilst I'm naturally thrifty and often go for the family packs of socks. After buying many pairs over many years where they usually rip around the toes or heel, or strangle my feet which do take some hammer as I do a lot of walking in the day, I decided that it was maybe time to pay more for quality.I looked around the web for recommendations as to what to buy and found the darn tough range highly recommended. Upon opening the package they looked thicker than the usual sock but they are a lovely fit, I'm touching on a size 11 so went for the larger size. I've worn and washed these now several times and they look as good as new. I've even had them on with leaky shoes and they have no signs of getting any holes in them. I will definitely build up a collection of these and will now recommend to all that it's definitely worth spending the extra, you'll only have to do it once! Congratulations Darn Tough for a great sock.

I'm extremely picky about tactile stimuli, socks have always been a challenge for me... The seam has to run above the toe not at the end; They need to feel soft and not scratchy but durable; They and have a little compression, but not too much; etc. If anything is off with my socks it literally socks drive me crazy, like that itch that can't be scratched but can't be ignored crazy.I have not used for hiking or high activity yet but based on what I have seen, I don't see there being any unexpected differences. These have been amazing, the seam runs over the toes, but is barely noticeable. There's not as much stretch as I'm used to but that's likely due to material differences, after a week of breaking them in they have a little bit of stretch for compression but have otherwise molded themselves to the shape of my feet, so the "lack of stretch" is not a problem. Best of all they are warm but breath so my feet stay dry in day-to-day usage while padded and comfortable. As far as I've experienced, they are definitely worth the price.

These socks whilst not as thick as the Darn Tough work-boot socks fit well. For those of us with fat calf muscles, it saves having to cut down the sides to prevent said calf being strangled by the top of the socks. The thinner material obviously takes up less room and feels more like the rest of my socks room-wise in my boots. Longevity would be affected I'm sure, but that lifetime guarantee saves on replacement costs. And just like the other Darn Tough socks I have bought, they must have some sort of odour eating ability as they hardly smell at all after a days work.
