I ordered this swivel knife for leathercraft. I have not done much engraving at all but am really motivated to learn. I did not have high expectations for this tool, but it blew me away. It has an extendable handle that swivels, but is tight so if you have larger hands, extend the handle and you have a bigger tool. The knurled sides make holding the knife very easy. The interchangeable blades are nice to work with—each comes with a cap to keep you safe. The tiny allen wrenches are handy, but a bit fragile because they are so small—be sure not to over tighten the bolts and you will be fine. I was able to easily carve a rudimentary flower in leather without much issue. I plan to practice more with this knife to get better. The major bonus is it all comes in a nice plastic carrying case so you can keep all of the pieces and parts together. Overall a great swivel knife at a great price. Highly recommended!

I work with leather and am conversant with swivel knives. This is actually a good one. It is long and that makes using it easier and less taxing on the forefinger. That the length can be modified makes it even better. The swivel movement is smooth and easy.The blades need sharpening and stropping for optimal performance. But that is something that I always do anyway.One thing - the video showing how this is used - that person is only modelling the knife. When actually using the knife, the leather needs to be well cased, and the knife held correctly. For anyone new to leatherworking, I suggest looking online for good instructional videos on how to do it.

I've never used a tool like this with the swivel handle before. It make life a lot easier! This particular one is adjustable with a telescoping arm for the swivel and it comes with 4 blade widths, from 6mm to 9mm. Each of these are quite sharp, and solid enough to be easily sharpened in the future.I don't do a lot of leather work but it does come up from time to time. However, I am often working with other materials that need gouging, scraping and working in much the same ways. This tool's swivel arm changes everything for me.This is a great tool at a great price.

I’m new to leather working, and I’m slowing adding the needed tools to my craft space. This swivel knife is a great addition! It comes in a small case and includes everything you need. There are four, easy-to-swap blades and two keys for making those changes. The swivel handle is also extendable and easy to adjust.I particularly love that the set comes with rubber guards to cover the blades when not in use. I can’t speak to how these compare to other similar tools, but they definitely work great for a beginner!
