It warms up pretty quickly and gets QUITE warm, makes scooping out acai a breeze! Im only taking away a star because Id prefer it have a button to turn on... in this case you just hold it in your hand and it turns on, or stays on, and after not using it for a while it turns off and cools down. I love the auto off feature, but I guess time will tell hoe much I adjust to it auto-turning on. so far, honestly, no issues whatsoever.

So yeah, this is one of those products that make you feel like you just may have gone a tiny bit over the edge. However, it does work nicely. The size is right and the build quality feels fine. As soon as you grab the handle it is automatic on which is convenient. Honestly, I sort of wish it had a switch though because putting it away makes me nervous that it will turn on one day by itself. Also it does not turn off until a timer and sometimes I literally just have to set it on a table and wait for it to decide when to turn off. Our kids love to use it and very easy as if it was even that difficult to begin with, right? The price point is up to you to decide if it's worth it. As far as functionality, it does work as intended.

Overall, this ice cream scoop does what it should - it heats up and lets you scoop ice cream easily! On top of that, it’s quite comfortable to use and hold. The display is well designed and the “turns on when you use it and turns off when you stop” is quite smart! I do wish it was a bit sharper on the edges to help scoop a bit more but that’s not a deal breaker. Easy to charge and pretty easy to clean. (Just make sure to read the directions.)

Great idea, but the execution is not ideal. It takes a while to reach the 158-degree Fahrenheit. It took over 3 and a half minutes. Once activated, it will continue to warm up without you having to hold it. Nice feature for you to “preheat” the scoop as you prepare the ice cream and bowls. Unfortunately, it only stays on for 40 seconds and heats up to about 118 to 120 degrees and then shuts off. I think instead of timed shut off, they should have it shut off after reaching a certain temperature. The other negative thing about it is that there is no way to turn it off if you accidently turn it on or if you are done scooping. You have to let it just time out. And, I seem to accidently turn it on quite often, either when washing or putting it away. As others have mentioned, once you use it, it cools of quite fast and then you have to wait again for it to warm up.For my most use case scenarios this has worked fine. We don’t usually get rock hard ice cream and so the lower heat temperature of the “preheat” of this works just fine. The handle is nice to hold and the scoop seems to work well. Basically, all works and works decently. I would say it is still better than holding your scoop under hot water, but not a way better.
