I got this audio switch box for connecting a PC and TV to desktop speakers, without interference between the two. It works great for this, and I don't need a ground loop isolator anymore. Controls are easy to operate. It's well-built and runs smoothly, and a nice size for the desk. This is a good value for a switcher or to solve some ground-loop problems without audio the degradation an isolator adds.I've tested and this FULLY disconnects the inactive input, INCLUDING ground; all four connections (ground, left, right, mic) are switched. Other switchboxes I've used connect grounds, which caused interference that only a ground loop isolator could eliminate (but that reduced low-frequency response). This switch box eliminates my need for a ground loop isolator, without any audio degradation. In my case connecting either input to the speakers was fine, but having them both connected to a switch box that bridged grounds is what caused the interference between them. Case is not grounded, for some reason. Seems like it should be to reduce interference.Mic worked fine on a pair of earbuds. Resistance from mic in to out was 100 ohms, and it seems there's a large capacitor across the output, not sure what for.Volume control is a 1K potentiometer. At maximum, it only adds a couple of ohms resistance to channels. Neither will affect audio quality.I can confirm that case screws shear and break when trying to open case. I very gently turned one of the screws and loosened it, and it broke in the middle, so I can't screw it back in and I can see the other end inside. This is clearly by design, and unfortunate, since it prevents any repairs or improvements (like grounding the case).

This does what its says it will do on the package. It's enclosed in a nice aluminum box, and at first glance seems its fairly high quality.I wanted to take a look inside to see the quality of construction. I found four screws under the rubber feet, but found out the hard way that's a one-way trip. All four screws twisted apart and snapped. It appears that there was some sort of permanent glue used in the threads in the case. This is kinda stupid since it did not take much force to snap the screws they were so soft. All the glue does is make if very difficult to reassemble.Another side-effect of the destructive tear-down is if for some reason a repair needs to be made in the future, which considering the internal build quality would not be a surprise. The soldering was not great, though serviceable for lead-free. I could see this being a potential QC issue or failure point. Additionally, the solder flux was not cleaned off the board. That's usually a sign of sloppiness, even if so-called "no-clean" flux was used.In the end, it will serve the purpose I'm looking for, and that is to make a digital interface for ham radio similar to a RigBlaster, but for less money. Its just unfortunate that disassembly was somewhat destructive.

Mute button does not work. The rest of the build is actually pretty nice and heavy metal.
