I really like this little thing was not expensive, covers stuff in the microwave preventing splatter just like it is supposed to. I don 't find the folding thing really necessary but its nice, maybe someday I'll need that. But for what you want, to cover a plate or bowl in the micro to prevent splatter this works very nice. Good value

This works great. It is easy to use, easy to clean and easy to store. It is large enough to fit over our plates and other microwave-safe dishes. Only one disappointment -- it has a lot fewer ventilation holes than the old, plastic colander that we used for decades. The numbered auto-programs on our larger, Sharp Microwave don’t work as well with this new cover as they did with the old colander. This is particularly noticeable on the omelette setting. The omelettes came out wonderfully moist and fluffy before, but they come out dry and leathery with this cover. I think it is because the sensors adjust the cooking power based on measurements of the moisture in the air. Less steam reaches the sensors when using this cover. For other dishes this works great -- just not for omelettes.
