I have been a road cyclist for several years of my life. I normally would ride on 23c width tires. Now that I am older, I am feeling the bumps to small potholes a lot more. I was looking to get a 'softer' ride. I did my own research about road tire sizes and that would allow me to have the softer ground roll on my own Road bike. Bike retail critics mentioned as for commuters, that 25c's are a good width tire for a softer ride. However, upon sight of this tire, I still thought it was on the too narrow side, meaning I would still feel a lot of the bumps on the road. I decided to try 28c's(the next size up for being on a road bike), yet knowing there may be 'fit' issues according to the size of my bike frame. I went to my LBM and had previously asked him if he had any spare 28c's, so I could see if there were going to be any problems in 'fit' with my frame. When I went there and placed them on the rims, then to my bike, they fit!!!(as not everyone has the luxury of being able to fit a 28c road tire on their bike frame). He also was kind enough to guide me in what to purchase as for a 28c road tires and CST Pro tires, was one that he mentioned. When they were delivered to me, I quickly put them on for the replacement of the 23c tires. Also, upon following shortly after the road tire change, I replaced a couple of my past triple chain rings to smaller sizes. The softer ride I was looking for, I got, and then some with these simple new upgrades. The CST is a kevlar folding tire which means it is lighter in weight and is also at 120TPI which is very important in the knowing of what constitutes a higher quality road tire, and were also sold for a very good price. Several other 28c tires I had researched about had an average of around 22-33TPI(not so great)as well as charged a lot more money for them. I am glad I purchased these tires and now look forward in doing more rides since it is a more comfortable, and less bumpier feel in my travels as a road bike rider. :)
