It seems like square head screws are becoming more common place. The problem is, every time I encounter them, I'm always having to look through various tool sets I have and usually have to use a bit attachment. So, I ordered these for a few reasons. One; no more trying to find a bit and hoping I have the right size on hand. Two; this set has a nice variety of sizes, and when I need one, I know which tool cabinet drawer they're in. Three; I've always been happy with the quality of Cresent tools. Glad I ordered them; I've used them several times already.

This is a lot of screwdrivers for not much money. And I'm usually a value-oriented shopper. But this set just doesn't work for me.I expect screwdrivers to work as pry bars, for one thing. These will not. They will bend. The metal is just too soft to work the way people tend to use screwdrivers in real life.Also, the tip selection is highly questionable. There are more pozidrive heads provided than Phillips heads. Which is crazy.Finally, the shape of the handles, while comfy, doesn't fit into a wrench, so you don't have the traditional means of applying additional torque at your disposal.The old adage "buy nice, or buy twice" really applies here.

A number of the beat-up looking old screwdrivers I got from my dad are still going strong, while I have damaged plenty of newer screwdrivers in just normal use, particularly damaging or breaking the tips. This set feels much more like those old-school screwdrivers but with upgraded handles. These have been in regular use by me for about 2 months with absolute zero visible wear on the tips (mostly using the Torx and Phillips). The handles are comfortable and grippy. Most of these also include the "hex bolster" so you can put a wrench on it for extra leverage. The hex bolster also means that shafts are larger and stronger which makes for a stronger product. There is not a single thing I can criticize on this set, even the price is very good for a made in Taiwan set as my general experience is that Taiwan produces top quality tools.
