The slow start is the confusion around things like the calibration card (any sheet of paper will do, there is nothing special about this) pull the resin tank, drop the paper on the screen and then loosen the head screws on the build plate so that it's all wobbly. Drop it on the paper or the calibration card/paper and then tighten them all up. Ready to go.Replace the resin tank, fill it the max fill lines aren't easy to see so be careful. Filling past the first level can be done but use too much and you will have resin pouring everywhere. So, I would just fill to the first level on your first go. I didn't need anywhere near that amount for the thee 32 mm minis I had it punch out. 3.5 hours later they were perfect. Cleaned and UV processed them and I was quite happy with the results. Just made my Bambu Labs A1 (even on 0.2mm quality) pale in comparison to how sturdy they were. I would argue that a 5 hour filament print at 0.2mm mega quality might have produced a better print ... maybe but These three minis failed to complete without issues on THREE prints on the bambu A1. They came out beyond expectation on this as a first test print.I used water to wash em (water washable) in a tupperware container with water just swished em around (nothing fancy) and tossed em on a acrylic / resin nail curing (double sided, 20 bucks) on the middle clear plate and they cured up nicely.I am dinging the printer (i put it back up to 5 starts because the printer is fine, I just can't read Chinese lol...) for the fact that the installation manual is 2 pages of ambiguous trash. The online video (and the one on the flash drive is fine) is functional but if you didn't come across it right away you might be pulling your hair out (i had watched it before I bought this, but it's a different thing when you're doing the steps because you don't want to bust the printer). The slicing software is Creality Box, it's fine... Problem is it has no way to install it in ENGLISH or any other language for that matter. Installs in Chinese, you have to do a google search to find the character set (last on right from top left; I think it's the last option on that drill down menu for english) that allows you to change the Language. After that with a bit of toying around I knew how to do basic stuff in the slicer. Not as pretty as the Bambu slicer but it works. Can't speak to the Other license you can use for 3 months. I am using the free one and It find it ok to work with. In some ways, it's better than Bambu's because once you get the hang of it, the controls seem more intuitive (though they appear lackluster initially).CLEANUP FYI - Please have purchased plastic shelf liner or silicon mats and work on them prior to starting. Even with that, I put down a plastic kitchen garbage bag and worked on it. resin is messy and even if you're careful it will still get everywhere especially from the build plate and models you print.Cleanup, fold a piece of paper and place it half in the resin bin. Run the cleaning cycle. Pull the paper (should pull a resin film that was on the bed with it). Use the plastic scraper to get any residual stuff, pout the rest into a funnel into your resin bottle. The provided funnels suck, do some research and get a better one. I picked up a well rated Sovol metal one with strainer for like 7 bucks.I'm a total newbie but I was impressed by the speed, quality and the build area being bigger than expected. Gonna do some more prints tonight!

Came in with 0 experience. Watched a few videos, and was printing in an hour. Prints are coming out great. Very happy with the quality and ease of use. Mind you there is a steep learning curve to the software side but you can get around that by finding the right stl files.

Disclaimer: Lychee defaults for the LD-006 set bottom-layer exposure to 15sec. CHANGE THAT! I use a slew of both cheap resin and high-end stuff from Phrozen and Siraya Tech, and none are OK with 15sec bottom-layer exposure. I don't use fast-cure resins, so maybe that's what I'm missing, but please, 15sec isn't OK. Do better, Lychee. This is not a Lychee review, however, but gimme a sec to compose myself; I need to talk positively about Creality gear, and that's a bit of a struggle for me.Phew. I bought this printer when it was at $200, got it, used it, then turned around and bought another, even though it was up to $215. In this range, it's a clear win for the hardware for the price. Since dialing in settings, I have had exactly one failed print, but that was a geometry issue -- I added a raft, and it printed fine.I especially like two measures that go towards a really high-capacity resin vat: the build plate itself and a progressive flare to the vat itself. The build plate is suspended by four, widely-spaced posts, which in turn mate to the mounting bracket. This results in the build plate assembly displacing VERY LITTLE resin, so there's very little overflow risk. Meanwhile, the resin vat is flared, so that it's stiff-enough at the interface between vat and FEP sheet, but has progressively more area towards the top of the vat. These two features combined mean that I have not once run out of resin mid-print, which happens quite often with my Photon Mono 4K.The UI is nothing to write home about, but it is more accurate and more responsive than on my Photon Mono 4K. It's worth mentioning, as I generally dislike touchscreen interfaces on devices like this, and I wish the money was spent on better bearings or drivers, but I'm also in that weird category of users that would be fine with them skipping the screen altogether, and just SSH'ing in...which leads me to the final interface quibble: there's an ethernet port. You can't use it, it's not implemented, but there's an ethernet port. Weird. The machine is a bit noisy, and the fans are way louder than any of my other printers, resin or filament. It apparently has a filter...somewhere...I'm not sure, but it's listed on the specs. I was worried my wife would find the fan noise obnoxious, but it's been alright. She did get concerned when she heard the thumpy-pop of the print lifting off the FEP sheet, which is also louder than my other resin printer, but... the Photon Mono 4K is like 6" diagonal, versus 9" diagonal for the LD-006. Understandably, that's a lot more diaphragm area for the "drum effect" of an FEP sheet.A final point of praise for the Creality LD-006 is that it comes with a model of the Eiffel tower, and it's actually really good. It doesn't have the elevator entrance or stairs, but it's otherwise actually a nice little model, and definite points in its favor with the wife; she liked it so much that it's now on her desk at work.I think Creality really fumbled, when they failed to push the LD-006 back in 2021. It basically doesn't exist on the internet. There's only like 3 YouTube reviews about it, and there's literally 1 (one) thread about it on Reddit asking whether it's worth $100 (Ha! Short answer, Yes!). This is such an advertising fail for a company that owns the bottom-feeder, barely-viable-product, budget market for 3D printers, based entirely on the strength of their advertising. This would definitely have been worth the $700 MSRP at launch, back in 2021, and is probably on-par with an AnyCubic Photon X2 or Elegoo Saturn 2. It's a steal at the price I paid, and it's probably a decent deal at twice that.
