First of the positives. These things are very heavy duty and solid. Well polish they almost look like mirrors. So once you get them in your desk they look great.The negatives definitely outweigh the positives. First off if you drill a hole into your desk that is 2 1/2 inches these things won’t fit. Not even close. You can see the difference in size between a 2 1/2 inch hole cutter and these inserts from my pictures. So unless you have a drum sander you either have to hand sand for a freaking very long time, or use a dremel tool. I didn’t have a drum sander let me tell you if you try to hand the sand a desktop that is not made out of real wood you’re in for a world of hurt. I have a desktop that is a laminate filled with particleboard. Which is mostly glue so sanding it is near impossible by hand. With a Dremel tool which is what are used do you have a not so huge bit. So it took a very long time anyway and it’s pretty tough to make something stay perfectly round. Thankfully there is a large enough lip on this insert to cover any imperfections in your sanding. Once that was done comes my second negative on these inserts. Supposedly they do come apart and you could pull out the top piece. First I tried to spin it with my bare hands no luck. Then I used a silicone grip and tried to spin it also no luck. So then I put a wooden dowel rod in the hole and tried to spin it that way no luck. Finally with the wooden dowel rod in I hit the rod with a hammer and was able to get the insert out of the piece. This is a desk not something used on a construction site where the fit needs to be super tight. If it actually just dropped in it would be fine. Or if it was a very loose spin to lock it in place fine. I don’t know what they thought they were making these for??

A little on the pricey side - but for sure get what you pay for. SUPER solid and fit my desk holes real snug.

I have a very large matte finish quartz countertop. I would have loved to leave it pristine but I hated the cords snaking over the top to the outlets. This provides a convenient drop and keeps my counters uncluttered and clean. All my cords and cables easily fit.

These grommets feel solid and heavy. The fit is tight so the top won't move around.
