Didn’t think it was sturdy enough for my job so I returned it.

We have two large bamboo blackout shades (fairly heavy). Love the look, but after 9 years they were becoming difficult to lock in the up position. Took several tries, tugging hard and pulling way to the side. I was starting to look at replacements. But I took a chance on replacing the cord locks. I couldn't see how that would be the issue since the little barrels are brass. But installed these and the shades work like brand new, smooth pulling, easy locking. I'm still a little leery about the body being plastic (the old ones were metal).I don't know if this played into the improvement or not: the shades use four cords. The old cord locks only had three channels - so two of the cords used the center channel. Now each cord has its own channel. The only challenge was getting the cords through the lock. I finally realized I could send the cord through the opening above the barrels and then send it back down between the barrels, then with a toothpick I was able to get the cords through their respective slots. Also - I found out the hard way - that it's important to keep the cords in the same order 1 thru 4 as they come off the last pully. Otherwise they wrap around each other and it just doesn't work. The first one took me an hour or two. The second one took about 20 minutes. Also, in my case the distance between the screws was the same as the original so there was no need for drilling new holes. That was convenient. Overall - an easy 5 stars.

Finally got them to lock. Simple directions would have saved valuable time. Followed directions on YouTube for a cord lock that does not work the same way.All cords on this one must enter same way, flat side to center!

This was super easy to install. I had to replace a broken one.

I have been looking for these cord locks in the past since I have sewn Roman shades for my previous homes. I previously bought them in Joann Fabric but they are no longer stocking them and I never knew they were available online. What a surprise when I found them at Amazon and at a reasonable price. Since many of the roman shades I make are between 3 to 5 cords, it was best I bought these 5 cords lock. The 5 cords lock is well made and keep the tension of the cords up when needed. (I have some that I will replace with these that just don't catch so the shades fall lower.) Now that I have a source, I will continue to buy and recommend friends to buy them from Amazon.
