I made a great little pot of coffee with this beauty. The markings are 6 oz cups. So.... 4 cup mark is 24 oz. 6=32. 8=48. I used 1 healthy, gratuitous Tablespoon of coffee per 6 oz cup. Everyone has their preference; began heating at medium high heat and once the water started to perk and have a hint of caramel color I set my timer and percolated at medium heat for 6 minutes, then removed from heat and let it finish dripping. The viewer knob on top of the lid is glass, not plastic. I like that. The coffee has a more complex flavor, fullness and mouth feel that can't be had with a dripper machine. It's a sturdy piece of equipment. The steel pot feels substantial. Those who complain about having their handle melted must have been brewing with a welder's torch. Same goes for the knob cracking.... I don't think that was a quality control issue I think it happened to them from starting off at too high a heat setting. I like the handle. It stayed cool and protrudes far enough away from the pot to allow my hand to quickly grab without risk of burn. The spring the basket sits on is very loose, so you must be careful when washing not to lose it. Other than that, excellent buy. I should also say it is a pretty piece of equipment. It looks vintage. Something from a 1930's kitchen. Reminds me of that killer robot thing from the old "The Day the Earth Stood Still." I hope this makes sense. And helps.

Firstly the insane delivery time. Ordered it at 10:00pm and it arrived before noon the next day at Gosford NSW.Works really well and makes really good coffee. Bit of a learning curve with the amount of coffee to use over percolating time but all good now. Great that the handle stays cool when using on a gas stove. Took it camping last week with no problems. A robust piece of equipment for AUD$60.00.One piece of concern is that I’m going to lose that spring sooner or later but I should be able to make one or find one elsewhere. So highly recommended. 👍I’ve been usin* this for a few months now and am very pleased with it. It makes a very tasty cup of coffee. And still got the spring.

Muy Bonita Cafetera, solo pones la canela, azucar y canela en el compartimento, lo cierras, y dejas hervir, y listo, alcanza para 6 tazas grandes, calificacion 10 de 10

I’ve tried 3 different percolators here on Amazon and this one won the test. The other 2 had rosewood handles and shallow baskets with perforated holes that let the coffee grinds fall through no matter what I did. The best part about this pot is the unique basket design, which doesn’t let the grinds through, eliminating the need for filters or straining the coffee. I also love that the lid locks into the pot, so there’s no danger of the basket falling out when pouring the last of the coffee. The top percolator knob is now made of glass, not plastic, but I haven’t had any issues. I’m not crazy about the small spring that holds up the basket, but it’s a minor inconvenience. The handle is a superior design, I really like the heavy duty plastic that stays cool, has a thumb rest and sits away from the pot. I also want to note that although this is an 8 cup pot, it’s actually slightly larger in size than the 9 cup pots and produces the same amount of coffee. The markings are very easy to read, unlike the other pots I tried, and you have the option of brewing 4, 6, or 8 servings at a time. I usually make just 4 servings, which makes one heaping mug of coffee for me (roughly about 16-20 ounces). Oh, and it makes wonderful coffee. I’ve been drinking pour over for years, but I love the ease of the percolator, being able to brew a whole pot of piping hot coffee, and the sense of nostalgia. I feel like using this pot, I can get away with not using anything super fancy or artisanal. If you live near an Aldi, their regular German roast ground coffee is super affordable and makes a respectable cup of coffee that won’t break the bank. It’s my go to for when I need a full pot of coffee.Overall a great percolator that’s a step ahead of the competition, heavy duty stainless steel, beautiful design and very affordable. One caveat- if you have an induction stove, it may or may not work. I can’t explain why, it’s not magnetic steel, but sometimes it works oddly enough. Starting it out on low heat and then turning it up gradually is a trick that has worked for me. Super annoying for the time being, but I’m moving anyway and plan on taking my percolator with me, the coffee is amazing! One month update- the glass percolator top broke after only a few weeks of use despite trying to be careful. I’m hearing that this is an issue with most percolator tops and not just this brand. I still love the coffee pot, so I started looking on Amazon for a compatible plastic top so I’m not having to constantly replace glass tops. The GSI resin percolator top is around $5 and seems to be a good fit. It’s made from heavy duty resin plastic, so I’ll be switching over to that in hopes it won’t crack and lasts longer than the glass tops.3 month update- Still loving this coffee pot, no more issues with glass knobs breaking, I’m just extra cautious not to let the coffee boil too hard, which ruins the taste of the coffee anyway, aside from potentially cracking the glass top. I’ve recently tried a few electric percolators hoping they would speed up the process, but I have yet to find one that makes coffee as tasty as this stove top model. I think having full control over the brewing process makes a big difference, including the level of heat and the brewing time. I highly recommend this percolator, especially if you are just starting out. Electric percolators are easily three times the price and have not been reliable in my experience.

I have used this percolator a few times now and I am satisfied with it. My biggest issue is that it states it is a 2 liter container and I would disagree. I can realistically put in about 1.2 liters of water in before thewater level gets too close to the pouring spout. With about 100mls of water being consumed with the 50 grams of coffee that I put in that leaves about 1.1 liters of coffee out of it which makes 4 cups of apx 250 mls of coffee or about 8.5 ounces. It makes a strong cup of coffee which is what I enjoy but it takes it's time to brew and you have to keep an eye on it as you don't want it to over brew.

Simply the Greatest Little Percolator we have used.Best coffee we have ever had using only 100% Colombian Coffee from a can. Does NOT require specialty coffees or Grinds for a rich full flavor AND takes far less coffee than our good Basket Machine used to. Almost all Basket machines use Plastic and this is all good quality Stainless Steel with the exception of the Top View Knob. It was good acrylic but for $3 we replaced it with Glass. Took only 3 minutes for the refit. That was the only downside to this percolator (SMALL one at that). The rest of the Unit is Top Quality!Have used it for several months now and NO downside. Takes 5 minute to bring the water to a Boil, turn down the burner to Minimum and the Set your Timer to 15 minutes for the Best Rich Coffee ever. Better than any Name Brand and only 8 teaspoons of Coffee for 8 cups of water.W cut circles out of our Basket Filter Papers to make "Cheap" circular inserts and almost Zero Grounds in the bottom of the unit. Be a bit lazy, don't use paper, and you get a very small amount of grounds in the bottom. About an eighth of a teaspoon, not a worry but don't drink the dregs. LOL.Burning or melting the Plastic Handle??? That is just plain silly! We put the burner on High to initially boil the water and the Handle Barely GETS WARM. Maybe if you had a Gas Stove and put it carelessly in the flames you cold melt it?Have to really try IMHO to hurt this little guy!Again if you replace the Top View Bubble with Glass ($3) the Handle is the ONLY PLASTIC left and it does NOT come in contact with your Coffee and Water. Rather Plastic than Wood which cracks or Metal which is uncomfortably warm or hot.In conclusion, no Negatives only Positives. GREAT price, quick delivery and Excellent Product. Really enjoy your product and would recommend it to anyone.Thank you so much for the best coffee ever.
