I switched to plastic two color math counter for my kindergarten classroom and the results have been GREAT! Students no longer draw or chew the math manipulative and they will last year after year. The color is perfect for my math curriculum, the price is honest, and kids have more fun and more understanding when they use counters to solve. The size fits perfectly onto a standard ten frame. They’re so versatile!

I got this huge set of 1000 two-colour math counters for my kindergarten classroom as this type of math manipulative can be used for many different purposes, and we never seem to have enough of these "chips" as my students call them.I am very happy with this set as it comes in a plastic bin that holds all 1000 and can be used for other purposes as well (I'm thinking of putting them into smaller containers to make it easier for my students to use). They are smooth and are all the same sizeSo far we have found several purposes for these counters, with more to come. My students have enjoyed using them as a tool for non-standard measurement, as they are all the same size and are easy to line up next to each other to measure another object. They have also enjoyed using them as loose parts and pretending they are money. Of course they always come in handy for helping with counting and sorting activities, and also for marking off things such as when they do roll and cover activities, they can use the chips to mark the number they roll. One of the most useful things they can be used for is addition and subtration, as well as composing and decomposing numbers. Since they are two different colours (red on one side and yellow on the other), they are an amazing tool for teaching children to add and subtract, as well as how to create different numbers (e.g., 3 red and 2 yellow make 5, as do 1 red and 4 yellow, etc.).I know these math manipulatives will get excellent use within my classroom for many years to come, as this set of 1000 is truly HUGE, and that means that even if a few go missing, we still have tons to use. Definitely recommended!

I've been looking to add to my collection of math manipulatives, especially since I was looking for something to be used at a grade school, and these red and yellow discs come in a convenient storage case that holds enough counters to be used with an entire class. The storage case is relatively sturdy, with locking clips to help keep the lid in place. The clips are a bit loose so I'm not sure I'd trust carrying this around without taking a bit of care, as dropping it would make a significant mess. The hard plastic discs, which do not have any flex or bend in them, are about the size of a Loonie, though they're much thinner then the coin. The plastic is smooth to the touch while the edges have a bit of a sharpness to them, though not so much as to pose any kind of hazard or to make them uncomfortable to hold/use.Overall, a nice compact set with discs that are thick enough they should stand up to plenty of use. At approximately five cents a disc they're not the cheapest option out there, but the fact the discs are identical in colour and size, and have a good overall build quality, makes them a decent value.

These counters are well made and very nicely sized for my first grader. She loves to play with them and has probably lost a dozen or so already but that's ok because there's SO MANY counters included with this set. It's probably more than a single homeschooler needs but it'd be great for someone with multiple kids or a classroom setting. The container is great for storing all the pieces and the latches hold it closed well. I like that they're dual sided so you can more easily model addition or subtraction problems by using one color for each number value. That really seems to help my daughter conceptualize the process. I like these counters and so does she.
