The LUKFOCAB DisplayPort/HDMI KVM Switch Box for 4 Computers has a decent build quality. Its black metal case gives it a professional look.In today's world, few knowledgeable people would buy a KVM or video switch box without EDID support. This technology is crucial to keep the digital video source stable while switching from one source to another. It tricks the computer or video source into thinking that a monitor with a specific resolution is always attached when in fact there could be none. One application is that OBS screen recording on a PC can continue smoothly without interruption when you suddenly switch the monitor to another PC.Unfortunately, from my tests, this KVM switch does not appear to provide the EDID function or the EDID function did not work properly. In short, the KVM switch under review acts like a normal KVM switch without EDID support.I set up YouTube screen recordings via OBS Studio on 2 PCs on channels 1 and 3 respectively. Then I kept on switching between the 4 different PC channels. The 2 recordings did not go smoothly. There were either blackouts or a shrunken screen during the switching. Sometimes even the HDMI audio was gone. After a few seconds, the video would come back again. This is the exact behaviour of an HDMI switch without EDID support. Had EDID support been present, the 2 recordings would have been rock-solid as in another KVM switch box that I own. The difference is day and night. This is disappointing.I noticed that my sample of the KVM switch box under review is different from the box shown in the product picture. The product picture clearly said “4K Dual UHD with EDID Lock” but the product I received does not have this label on the case.In conclusion, the LUKFOCAB KVM Switch box I received is a traditional KVM switch box without EDID support. Your screen recording on the PC will behave unpredictably when you switch from one PC to another. However, as a traditional KVM switch box, it works fine.

I have to give credit where credit is due. You can't beat this deal and the device worked flawlessly for me. I can't speak on switch times as this is my first KVM, however every port worked and it came with the necessary cords except you need the 6 hdmi cords or DP to hdmi depending on your set up.

I typically have to switch back and forth several times to get the monitors to display correctly.

I don't have any audio running through this, so I can't speak to that quality at all. I'm using it to switch computers on the same keyboard/mouse/monitor setup, as in between my personal laptop and a minicomputer that I'm playing with. In that context, this is one of those things that if it works, there's not much to talk about, so - it works. It's not hard to set up (plug and play) and it does the job.

I got fed up with my last KVM (kept dropping the signal from my mouse, and it would sometimes take 15-20 seconds to switch). I decided to give this a try. While I really do like this KVM, there are a couple things you should know: There is no option for hotkeys, it comes with USB cables, but not the HDMI or audio cables (there is a 3.5mm cable for the switch that should work for the audio, if you want to use the buttons on the front of the KVM to switch). This brings me to the next point. The switch appears to have a sticky bottom to it, but I was unable to get it to stick to anything. I decided to use a cable guide to hold the switch in place in my keyboard drawer. My last KVM has all the cables attached to it. Even though they aren't pictured, it never occurred to me that I would need to buy the necessary HDMI cables. Not a big deal and not the product's fault. I got a couple of Amazon HDMI cables that work fine for a great price. My biggest gripe (and it's pretty minor) is that the audio and mic jacks are on the front. This looked really ugly on my desk, so I mounted it under my desk. I would have preferred the jacks be placed in the back where all of the other cables go.I only have one monitor, so I can't speak for the 2nd monitor capability, but it works flawlessly with two computers, one keyboard, one mouse, and one monitor. The switching takes about 3-4 seconds which is great. The setup was very straightforward which is good because there really aren't any instructions included. I have only used it for a few days so I can't vouch for the longevity, but I'm really happy with it so far. If you're okay with what I've mentioned above, I would recommend it.
