I have two pairs of these and they are fine for short outings in dry conditions. BUT these pants are NOT waterproof. They may have waterproof material, but as soon as it's stitched, it's no longer waterproof UNLESS it's then SEAMSEALED, which is not the case here. As soon as water meets any stitching or seam of these pants you will get wet. (To test whether a garment is seam sealed, simply pinch around the seam. If it folds right on the seam, it's not sealed. If you see a wider band of fabric resisting the pinch, that's the seam seal.)I'd also say the thigh-to waist-circumference ratios are off, the waist is quite loose even with the velcro adjustments which makes for an awkward fit. Restricted movement because the thighs are tight, snow down the back and non-seamsealed seams = mediocre ski pants. They are better than nothing, but they aren't as advertised.

Mads originally did have one of these when was a child and it was excellent. Kept her dry even in the pouring rain whilst being pushed in wheelchair, at same time was very warm and happy b'cs could go for walks in the rain. This one is acticully better quality tho and thicker, so should withstand more downpour and I absolutely love the fact that it's fleece inside so she'll be more warm in cold weather.I hate being caught out in the slightest bit of rain knowing that mads is getting soaked and cold., We don't mind the rain but not when your unprepared and ain't got the suitable clothes.Least now I know she'll be prepared, safe from getting a col; or flu from the bad wet weather if we get caught.Machine washed on 30°c gentle cycle, 1400spin, didn't want to stick in dryer so hung over the indoor clothes horse. The outside didn't take long to dry, but the fleece inside took number of hours. But once was dry took it upstairs and ran the hose over it slight; like a downpour.....result;— The outside was soaking but the fleece inside was dry.So if I were you, I'd seriously purchase just incase

I have taken them skiing once, and they were great! They have velcro inside so they can adjust to fit your waist, which is essential in ski pants since you may not always be wearing the same thing underneath, or maybe if your weight just fluctuates a bit between seasons they will still fit. I like the zippered pockets where I can tuck something that is not too bulky, like my ID and health insurance card, which I like to have on me in case of accident. Aside from that, these pants have everything you want in ski pants. They are waterproof, warm, and have elastic inside the leg to secure tightly around the outside of ski boots to keep snow from getting inside. These run a little bit large, but honestly they fit about the same as most other ski pants I have tried on do. They are long on me when I am just standing around in them, but once I put on ski boots the length doesn't matter.I noticed when reading reviews of many different pairs of snow pants that people sometimes claim that they run large, and then talk about how they just wanted some warm pants to walk their dog in when it is snowing or something. These are designed to fit over another pair of pants or bulky long underwear and a big pair of ski boots. They are probably going to seem too big if you are looking for something to wear while you are just walking around outside. Someone somewhere probably makes a pair of pants that would work better for that. I wouldn't recommend these.
