My 5yo wears a 4 or 5 in most things. Never a 6. After reading reviews, I decided to try the 6. They looked big on arrival but reviews said they shrink and they do shrink after a cold wash and low heat dry. My son measures 21” hip and 12.5-13” thigh and the 6 is a great fit with the perfect amount of room to grow. I bought these because the cheap character boxer briefs he gravitates toward have a seam right up the middle and I suspected the seam was making him constantly fidgety and uncomfortable. My kid doesn’t like the solid color but as soon as he touched the underwear, he fell in love. I wish they were organic for the price, but the quality and comfort outweigh that issue. No itching or discomfort so far!! As a boy mom of three, I’m happy with these and wish I found them with boy 1 because these seem like they would make it through 3 kids. The quality feels like the old Hanna Andersson thick quality cotton.

These are great! More durable material than what you find at the store. Don't bag out/get droopy. These we can hand down to younger brothers and then to cousins because they hold up so well. Worth the money!Best part...Made in USA!

My son is on the Autism spectrum and potty training has been difficult. Finding the right underwear has been a task. We spent a good amount of money buying underwear for him that he would just not wear. I saw the reviews for City Threads Briefs and a lot of moms said they were very soft and sensory-friendly, so I decided to buy ONE 3-pack to try out. Of COURSE my son absolutely loves them! They're super super super soft, and such great quality! Once we knew he would actually wear them, I purchased 3 more 3-packs. They are definitely a bit pricey, but they WILL hold up. I typically wash all of my clothes in tepid water and always dry on low heat as to avoid shrinking. They have held up to numerous washings so far! I definitely recommend these briefs for children with sensory issues. There are no tags, and nothing that will "dig in" to sensitive skin.

I bought these because my son loves red and his elastic waistband underwear were leaving red marks around his waist. Based on other people's reviews, I bought a size 12 for my just turned 10 year old son. My son is tall and skinny and the size 12 fit him good (if he was husky, I don't think it would have fit, I think it would have been too small). He immediately pulled off his underwear with the hated elastic waistband and put these on because they felt so "soft". Also, they are a perfect fit for him with no sagging anywhere. They are not skin tight but I was looking for underwear with a little bit of space in them.

My son just turned 6 years old and size 10 is the perfect size for him. Before the wash, the underwear looked really big. After a wash & dry, the underwear shrunk and it fits loose, but not by too much. It will allow him to wear it for 1.5 years. Now I can only hope that it won't shrink any further. If I bought size 8, it would be the perfect size for 4 months, and then I would have to spend another $60 for 9 underwear. The cotton material is really soft and smooth. As for the tag, I chose to leave it there as I am afraid that it might irritate my son if I cut it off. I thought about buying Fruit of the Loom or Hanes, but I decided to splurge and get 9 of these instead. I bought Jockey briefs first, but it ran small and I didn't like the tag on the stretchy area and a 2nd tag near the bottom. My son's previous underwear from Disney were just acceptable, and Carter's underwear were good.Is it worth it to buy made in USA vs. made in China even if it cost 3 times as much? Like all things, maybe. China does make great things, but US corporations always opt to choose the cheapest materials for their customers. So it leaves it up to the customer to judge whether made in China clothes are good enough. The problem buying online is that it has to be shipped to us first. Buying retail actually is a bigger issue than buying online as they don't carry much selection and much sizes. Until Target & Macy's increase kid's clothes selection significantly, I will continue to buy kid's clothes online.
