If you haven't had any experience with Scotch-brand double-sided tape, here's an affordable way to discover its extraordinary power. Although this roll of tape is only a quarter-inch wide, it can support many times its weight in various sticky situations.I used it to attach a small solar light to the side of my mailbox, illuminating the addresses perfectly. After holding it in place for about 30 seconds, it feels like a steel bond between the light fixture and the metal mailbox. It also works on bricks and other surfaces that are relatively smooth. My only complaint? It's a bit tedious to remove the backing on the outside of the tape. As it is with any other brand of double-sided tape, that's a simple problem to solve: Stick it onto whatever you'd like to attach to a wall or practically any other solid surface, and then remove (with a slightly long fingernail) the backing after its one side is already in place. The 3M logo, associated with the original manufacturer of Scotch brand tapes, is located on the inside of this substantial reel of double-sided tape, yet it appears that this product is not distributed by that company. However, this does not seem to matter, as this adhesive effectively gets the job done. Its surprisingly strong adhesive qualities make it useful for many tasks, and it's a valuable and handy item to have in your toolbox.

Double sided tape has so many uses that I won't bore you with them all. But here are a couple:1. holding blocks of wood together so you can cut them to the same size and shape;2. when a vinyl floor plank moves out of position and leaves a gap, put a couple strips on a short piece of 2x4, stick it to the plank, and then tap the 2x4 until the gap is closed (and super-glue that sucker so it doesn't move again!)3. be aware that anything you stick it to is going to be stuck well. Don't use on drywall or you'll need to repair the wall when you take it off.In other words, this stuff is semi-permanent. Keep that in mind and your life will be great!

FYI: the image makes the tape look a LOT wider than 1/4". The tape as described is 1/4" wide, which is how it arrived.I needed something "less than permanent" to hang an under-shelf LED light. I opted for this, rather than magnets, because magnets can be iffy, and cheap ones tend to not hold one...This works great. The tape is holding to the shelf (finished wood/MDF) AND the light (plastic) very well. We will have to see how it holds over time, but I've used similar products in other applications, and I would be surprised if there were any issues here. I'm not crazy about the price, it just seems like a lot for 15 1/2-ish feet, but I also didn't do much price comparison because I needed something ASAP. I'm not mad, so I guess it's an acceptable price, and a very good product.

I needed thin strips of double sided adhesive tape without the pain of cutting wider strips down. This roll fit the bill perfectly. It's the 1/16" thick foam VHB level adhesive from 3M. Great stickiness without being too thick and mushy. Width is just a tad under 1/4" and I found it sticks on just about anything. Flat smooth surfaces being better of course for any kind of tape. The roll self sticks to itself as it is wound and the red backer is not hard to peel off. Some of the glue does seep out the ages so be careful where and how you store the roll, easy enough to get off but I wouldn't lay it on anything sensitive. A+ for 3M material.

I originally ordered because I am very familiar with 3M products and needed a heavy duty double sided tape to hang a few hooks inside of our front door closet for both my sons light weight jackets. When the tape arrived it was a lot thinner than I expected but that is my own fault for not reading the description in its entirety. Nevertheless, the hooks are hung and are on there very snug and I didn't have to damage the door to hang them. I have 2 boys, 12 & 13 years old, who are not careful grabbing or hanging their jackets and the hooks are holding strong. Comes with over 15ft of tape for under $7. Great to have for small projects inside and outside.
