I'm a collector of bathing suits and I'm very proud of the collection I have curated over the years. I have incredibly high standards for bathing suits now though and instead of settling for a fast fashion, sub par quality piece that looks cute, I prefer a well made, flattering, quality piece that will actually last. While I love a good bathing suit, I typically do not wear (or even like) one pieces, rather I'm all about the bikini. The main reason for this is my body. I have a super long torso, so long that it makes my legs look short. If I do find a one piece that fits, I need it to have a certain cut (very high cut leg). The product photos didn't show the leg that I like/need, but I still loved the look of this suit. I has a light bulb idea- I was going to see if this worked as a bodysuit! Is that a stretch? Not really- I have other bodysuits that are made with bathing suit material (and they are some of my favorites). Plus, if this ended up fitting, I really don't care what others think- as long as i'm comfortable and it looks good, so I placed my order.I really want to stress, before I get into specific detail, that I'm a major quality snob/psycho- when it comes to bathingsuits. I look at EVERYTHING- materials, all the stitching, material cuts and parts of construction, all of it. I realized I was expecting A LOT from this, so I didn't get my hopes up.⭐ARRIVAL⭐The suit arrived super quick. It was folded down small and packed into a small, plastic, branded zipper bag.One thing I took note of immediately was that, while the package was on the small side, It had a nice (generous) weight to it. The suit was folded with layers of tissue, so there were no disruptions/flaws in the material. There were no unusual or unpleasant odors and there was a sanitary liner in place upon arrival.I always mention tags in my reviews- which I believe differentiate the cheap and generic from branded products. The suit had a branded, sleek looking, heavy card tag that was attached to one of the straps (via a cotton string- not a plastic piece or pin, so no holes). The materials and care tag in the suit was also branded (yea!). It is one of those clear, TPU tags. I love these because IF you do keep them attached and they poke out of the suit, they aren't terribly noticeable. They are easy to remove and this material just makes sense for a bathing suit anyways. It's comfortable and doesn't aggravate the skin.⭐MATERIALS⭐Jumping straight to it- I'm a little bit bummed out, and confused at the same time.According to the product info, this suit is supposed to be 84% Nylon, 16% Spandex. That is a blend (with a bit of leeway, + or - on those numbers) that I prefer for bathing suits, bodysuits, athleisure and athletic pieces. That was one of the big factors in why I decided to try this in the first place. The materials and care tag unfortunately does not say the same thing, rather it listst the materials as 82% Polyester, 18% Spandex. Now I absolutely LOATHE polyester in anything, especially on a bathing suit. It is the worst material ever made (in my opinion) because basically- it's plastic! Plus- it's CHEAP!Why am I confused? - Well, I am and I'm not.Other characteristics of poly is that it's very lightweight, typically rough/gritty and has that unmistakable sheen to it.When I opened the suit, I noticed the weight of it right away. It has the weight that I like, the weight of the nylon/spandex blend- not poly/spandex. The (outer material) isn't rough or gritty, rather smooth and soft and while it does have the typical bathing suit finish, it does NOT have the poly shine. So here it is...The outer layer of material, I believe, is some type of nylon/spandex blend. I know a lot about textiles but I'm not an expert, so I can't tell you the exact blend. It very well could be the 84% nylon, 16% spandex as advertised because I absolutely love it. It's smooth, soft, comfortable, has a nice stretch, a great weight and a beautiful drape to it- especially in the ruching. It also dries quickly and offers decent compression. It is clear that the material isn't thin either. While it's not bulky, the thickness of the material (on it's own) is enough to conceal any lumps, bumps or imperfections- instead of sinking into them and making them even more noticeable. The outer material is also pretty durable. While it isn't super strong (you will get pulls and pills if you sit directly on a concert pool deck), it does hold up well to regular wear.I really don't think this layer has any polyester in it, at all.Where the polyester comes in is the liner. The whole suit, front and back (sans straps) is lined with a really nice liner. It is also pink (the color slightly deeper than the outer material). It is on the thinner side, which is fine in this case, but it is NOT that cheep mesh liner that's used in a lot of the 'budget' suits. This lining doesn't feel or look mesh, rather it is smooth, buttery soft, quick drying and feels nice against the skin. It's not shiny, rough or gritty, but it can wear a bit warm, as it isn't super breathable. Of course, that's not an issue if you are wearing this to plunge into some cool water. It's also not shiny, at all, rather it's completely matte. It has wonderful stretch, but little compression. While the liner is polyester, it's not the super cheep, budget stuff.I've got to admit though, the discrepancy for the material content in the product info and on the tag bothers me.With two different materials (outer and liner), they should both be listed on the product page AND on the tag. If you buy a $75+ suit or from a well known brand, they always list both and I wish that was done here.⭐QUALITY & CONSTRUCTION⭐Aside from materials, this is the other thing I look at closely. For the most part, the construction on this suit is pretty simple. Everything is surged together (with the exception of the crotch panel, which is stitched on the underside- so no bulge to aggravate the privates). The surges are all even and strong/sturdy, but the surges around the elastic are a bit thick and poke out (into the skin/body) quite a bit. I do appreciate the fact that this isn't going to fall apart or come loose at the seams, the surges are just a bit aggressive for my taste. Of course, there are no exposed stitches or seams on the outer layer of fabric. The pleating in the bust is well done/clean, and the seams (underneath) don't stick or poke out- even when the suit is wet. The cups come with circular, removable pads that aren't super thick, but aren't the real thin, cheep pads either. I'm happy that they are a proper size (in diameter) for the cup (pads that are the wrong size or too small aren't flattering and they show- A LOT, when the suit is wet). I was happy to see that the openings for the removable cups are reinforced with stitching and not just raw cuts in the liner. The ruching is not done IN the material, rather it is an extra panel of material (a flap) that starts under the bust that's about 5" long at the widest part. The flap (made of the outer layer of material, folded over so the right side is exposed on front and back) is only attached to the side seams of the suit (where it's gathered/ruched). It kinda hangs in the middle, where it's the longest, and it tends to float up and around when you are in the water. It is still a beneficial part to the suit though because it looks cute and it also hides any bulges under the bust line VERY well. The lining is sized and sewn into the suit perfect. There isn't a single area where it is loose or too large where it could hang out. While the lining around the bust/cups isn't surged in place (rather the seams are in-between the two layers, hidden), and that's scary sometimes because (in other suits) the lining likes to roll out and constant adjustments need to be made- But that's not the case here.Surges in general require a lot of thread, so there is no shortage of that here. There are no loose or rogue threads and there aren't any long stitch chains that failed to get clipped, but the clipped ends were still a bit long when the suit arrived. I had to go around and clip them down further because there were thread ends basically around the whole suit.**There is one thing that really upsets me about the construction of this suit. I would expect this from one of the $15-$20 suits, but not a $35 piece. Obviously, there is an elastic band around the leg openings, around the back (from strap to strap). The elastic bands are surrounded by the materials and surged on, BUT every single cut edge of elastic is sticking out at the ends and they are very visible! Some of the elastic pieces stick out 1/4"! This is not good-at all. Not only is that a quality issue, it also is a nod to the quick, so/so construction in general. You should NEVER see the edges of the elastic in a bathing suit- EVER, as they are supposed to be completely covered with material with the edges of that material sewn down to cover the ends of the elastic. If a piece becomes exposed after several wears, that's one thing, but for this to arrive with every single edge unprotected and sticking out (they are white, so they really stand out too), that's no good. Those elastic edges have a sharp, hard cut, so they poke into your skin and they don't feel good. Plus, the elastic is basic like a rubber band (not the soft stuff), so they stick to the skin too. I'm honestly shocked by this and it IS an issue (not just me being picky). Not only does it show sub-par construction and that they don't care about quality control, but it does effect wear as they are uncomfortable. This is a real rookie move, one that's easily avoided (at no extra cost either), so I'm disappointed.⭐SIZE & FIT⭐I am 5'7", 128lbs and 34B. I still have a few extra lbs of winter weight on me, but I'm close to my usual weight. I'm not well endowed up top and I was not blessed with curves either. As I mentioned, I have a VERY long torso. When I buy bodysuits I always go up a size- to get the extra length. I don't like things so tight that I can't breathe, so this usually works out well. Even when I size up, I sometimes still have to use the bodysuit extenders which obviously isn't an option here (unless I fully committed to wearing this as a bodysuit only and added in some snaps). I took a chance and ordered a medium.I was pretty shocked, and pleased, when I pulled this on and it actually FIT! I definitely could use an extra 1"-2" of material (and I am in the process of cutting in and adding some snaps), but even without, I can get this on and over my shoulders without it pulling down and looking awful. I don't think the body is necessarily long, rather the deep V neck and stretchy (but supportive) straps are what allow for the suit to fit my long body. Long torsoed friends- size up!I was also surprised a bit that the body felt a bit snug. Sure, I am a few lbs over my typical weight right now, but mediums never really fit/feel this snug. Could it be because my long torso is pulling all the extra material up and down? Probably. But I also think this might run a little snug anyways. I loathe clothes that are too tight, as an improper fit isn't flattering at all (I get on my friends case all the time as she insists on wearing a small because she 'Doesn't want to be a medium', but that unhealthy attitude does her NO favors!). If you are on the fence, I recommend sizing up- for sure- as it will be more comfortable and way more flattering! The V cut in the chest is VERY low/deep. It is very sexy and gives some incredible cleavage, but it's not crazy or 'inappropriate' at all. I will note that even though everything is stretched vertically (a lot) on me, the bust is just a little roomy. I don't have much to fill the cups out, so I'm not surprised. Thankfully, the cups have pretty decent structure so I can add some extra padding and it's not very noticeable. I'm all about the lift and the volume, so I am kinda living for the top part. The suit holds the bust very well too, so there are no accidental spills. I think (as long as you wouldn't mind some serious cleavage) this would fit, hold and flatter larger chests quite well. The straps are just over 1" thick, and constructed with the outer material sewn into a tube shape, so they do provide good support. The leg cut and backside are cut exactly like the photos show. It's a very low, conservative cut on the leg and the back side has full coverage. So while the top may be a little saucy, the full cut a the bottom evens the suit out a lot. Could you wear this on a family trip to Disney? I don't see why not- as long as you don't mind the cleavage showing.⭐FINAL THOUGHTS⭐I was able to wear this as a bodysuit and I thought it looked pretty great. While the material does give bathing suit vibes, but because it's not shiny, it really isn't terribly obvious. I LOVE the straps and the back (which is quite open) and find that front flap to be quite flattering. I think it will be a lot more comfortable (fit wise) when I'm done adding the snaps in. This isn't a good style for me though (to wear as a swimsuit) as the cut on the legs makes me look super frumpy. I feel like one has to have nice, long legs to pull this off. While I haven't worn this specifically for swimming, I have been in the water with it (I was pushed in the pool). When the suit is wet, the liner really clings to the body and the outer layer clings to it. It gets a bit messy here because when it's not wet, it is pretty smoothing (not compressive, but because the material isn't thin, it doesn't highlight flaws), but that changes when the suit is wet. It shows everything, including the line up the backside, which isn't cute at all. The color also fades a bit (even after a cold water rinse when I was done), but not a ton so it's still a beautiful pink, just a bit lighter. There are some things I love about this suit and some things that I'm disappointed by- the construction and materials being the main issues then how it looks when it's wet being the other. $35 for a one piece (with a full liner) is a very reasonable price in general, but I think that is slightly too high for this particular one piece- and it's all because of the construction. Too many things were overlooked here and they aren't little things either. $28-$30 is what I would say is fair.I really went back and fourth with my rating, going between 3 and 4 stars. If I could do half stars, I would put this at a solid 3.5.⭐REGARDING MY REVIEW⭐This review is long, I'm not denying that- but I can't help it.I rely heavily on reviews myself before spending my hard earned coins. I include all the details- good or bad, big or small- that I would want to read myself. On top of that, I'm a total ‘quality snob’ AND I'm very picky about bathing suits in general, so the last thing I want to do is steer someone wrong by giving them false information (I've been on the other end of that and it's infuriating!). My goal is to give you all the details you would need in order to make your decision to purchase (or not) easier. If you DO decide to buy, you know exactly what to expect- NO surprises.Yes- I AM a Viner. That is a responsibility I take seriously. I have a unique opportunity to try products and give my HONEST opinion on them- and I do just that. I'm NOT owned by or indebted to any person, company or seller. The only person I owe anything to is fellow consumers, just like me, looking to spend their money as wisely as possible. I have no reason to lie. I'm NOT an influencer though, so I’m not trying to sell you something in order to make a commission. This review is nothing more than my own truth.

From the waist up, this suit it nice. I ordered my usual size of Medium and it fits as it should. The ruched/bunched look is classy, the low cut bust area is flattering and still family friendly and the criss cross back straps add a feminine touch to the back. The fabric is thin, but the front of the suit is double layered and the chest is lightly padded. From the waist down, the second layer of fabric rolls up a bit and you see creases on the underside. It's a little weird. The rear end has normal bathing suit stitching, but the front doesn't, so the crotch area rolls up a little bit in an odd way. The rear is not flattering At All if you have a curvier back side as I do... and is also only single layer of fabric. This might be okay for the darker colors, but not in baby blue. Now, hear me out. I have deducted two stars because of the awkward bottom of the suit and the thin fabric. However, if you add a swim suit over it, the look is fantastic! So much so that I would rate it a 4 out of 5 stars. So if you plan to wear it solo, I would personally keep looking. But if you like the layering idea, the upper half is great.I'm a 36C chest, 29 waist, 39 hips, 5' 8.5" tall and typically wear a size Medium bathing suit. I'm usually a size 4 bottoms and Small tops at Gap. I'm wearing a Medium in pics!
