It's very frustrating to set up. But once it worked it's great.I ordered 2. I couldn't make the first one work, so I ordered the second one. When I replace the ribbon cable on the second one for Pi Zero 2W, I realized the cable on the camera was supposed to be golden pins up! I don't remember anything else needs the pins up. It didn't immediately work, there are something else. As some pointed out, you need dtoverlay=imx708. There are another imx708-b0311.dtbo installed by ArduCam install script, the name seems perfectly match but that one doesn't work.ArduCam driver is for kernel 6.1.21-v8+, as in March 2025 we are supposed to be on kernel 6.12.13-v8+. There is no clear way to downgrade your kernel. I managed to downgrade it with hash code "sudo rpi-update 0b15297". But did it help? I don't know. After 2 days struggling with this camera, I already lost what actually made it work. But it does work, including the first one. I'm going to keep both of them for my projects because of its distinguished feature set. Autofocus is working, and HDR is working.

Seems like a nice camera but I never got it to work with my Rpi zero w 2. I’m running the “bookworm” OS. I tried a lot of things but finally gave up. Going with an official rpi camera now.

Ordered two, one was a dud. Ordered a replacement which worked fine. So, 2 out of three.Other than that, good picture quality and sensitivity. I ordered the 120deg fov autofocus with uvir filter to use as a sky camera. Not quite as sensitive as the imc280 based camera it replaced, but much cheaper and much smaller form factor. The instructions are confusing. If you have an rpi4, use the cable the camera comes with, not the white one as suggested in the images. Also, for debian bookworm, the libcamera library is preinstalled and needs to be used. In addition, you need to make the config.txt changes to auto detect and use the imx708 drivers as indicated. On mine you also need to run the libcamera hello app once to get it recognized for the first time.Very good value for the money imo. Btw this lens does have a little bit of barrel distortion but surprisingly well corrected for 120 deg.

This is the 'C' version of the camera which works well with the Rpi Bullseye OS on the Rpi-4. You do have to make a couple of changes to the config file which is easy if you go to their website which has the actual commands required.Tried unsuccessfully to use as a standard pi camera instead had to use the libcamera libraries to access it.
