I’ve installed a number of garage door openers in the past so I found the installation fairly straight forward just using the enclosed installation manual. However, the built in LED light didn’t work. In looking through the manual under ‘troubleshooting’ the instructions for addressing this were not at all detailed (see the photo). In looking at the opener it’s not at all obvious either as to what needs to be done “to remove the cover”. I reached out to Chamberlain customer support and they were very helpful. They ended up sending me a new light assembly (which encompasses most of the bottom of the unit, see photos). Included with the new light were more detailed instructions on how to remove the old light assembly. After taking out the screws and lowering the old light assemble, the wire connection came apart – clearly they weren’t connected tightly in assembly. Connecting the wires fixed the issue and I have an extra LED light if the original fails.By the way – if you need more detailed instructions on removing the light assembly do a Google search on the part number: 041-0203-000. From there, click on the chamberlain link to the part, which has a link to the instructions.As to how the opener works:I love it. It’s very quiet and works very smoothly. The MyQ app was fairly easy to setup and works well. The light though is somewhat underwhelming, at least in my specific situation, in that it shines on the back wall of the garage. My door to the house is on the side wall, more towards the front of the garage, so there’s not a lot of light that shines on it. I think having an adjustable light (one that could be pointed to where you want it) would be ideal.In the end, I’ll give this 4 stars: Great mechanicals, very smooth and quiet but the light is a bit of a disappointment.Edit: I was able to rotate the light 180 degrees and have it point to the garage door, thus better light the entrance to my house. See the last picture. Much improved, will up to 5 stars. Chamberlain should outline the steps for this in their manual!

Lleva una semana instalado y de momento opera muy bien. Lo instaló un profesional en un portón que abre hacia fuera, solo hizo unas pequeñas modificaciones agregando 2 perfiles para empujar cada hoja del portón, abre y cierra de manera muy rápida y silenciosa. Como dicen en otros comentarios, en la aplicación aparece inverso el estatus por el tipo de portones que comúnmente usamos en México; cuando está abierto indica que está cerrado, y cuando está cerrado indica que está abierto, no sé si se pueda modificar pero no representa ningún problema. Parece que ha sido muy buena compra, para los que dudan en usarlo en México anímense, solo consigan un buen instalador ya que es algo distinto a los tradicionales.

Tenía buenas expectativas hasta que llegó el momento de configurar la apertura y el cierre. Después de más de 20 intentos logré que no me marcara error. Funcionó bien dos semanas y luego "olvidó" los límites y la banda dentada brincando el engrane del motor hizo un ruido espantoso a las 4 de la mañana. Había que repetir la configuración constantemente y esperar a que decidiera no marcar error. Ahora ya no se pueden establecer los límites y parece tener voluntad propia. Voy a regresar al motor viejo que reemplacé y que trabajó bien por más de 10 años. Mencioné que una vez se abrió solo y dejo mi casa expuesta todo el día?. Definitivamente fué una mala inversión.

Funciona perfecto , solo me hubiera gustado que se integre con google o alexa, en México no tenemos esas opciones y como es importado no se puede sincronizar con prime.Dato adicional, la función en México está al revés dado que nuestros portones no son de cortina, cuando abres el portón para el motor es cerrar y cuando lo cierras para ellos es abrir. Incluso la app te dice que lleva abierto horas.

Buena calidad y silencioso. Muy equipado.Sería bueno incluir instrucciones alternativas para portones horizontales. Sin embargo la instalación fue fácil con algunos ajustes. Costó menos que el anterior y tiene muchas mejoras técnicas.

I bought this garage door opener to replace an old Craftsman unit with various problems. Replacement was straightforward; did not need to change any mounting brackets. The unit is quiet and has some features that I like. such as motion detection for the ligths, the backup battery (had a power outage soon after installing and we could open or close the garage 6 times before power returning) and the MyQ app to remotely open and/or close the garage door. Only drawback I found is that it did not work with one of my cars (2008 Acura RDX) Homelink. Granted, I could use one of the two supplied remotes, or the MyQ app, but I prefer the security (when I leave my car outside someone could break into my car and use the remote; the Homelink needs the car to be ON) and the speed (pressing an overhead button vs unlocking my phone, searching for the MyQ app, login in, waiting for it to open…). So I bought the Liftmaster/Chamberlain 855LM Homelink Repeater (around $25) and made my car’s Homelink work again. BUT now my car cannot open the garage door if there is a power outage, notwithstanding the unit has battery backup, because the 855LM repeater is a separate unit plugged directly to power, not to the opener’s battery circuit. So for this situation Chamberlain recommends storing the remote in the glovebox in the event of a power outage. Go figure. Why they couldn’t integrate the repeater unit to the opener’s battery circuit is not visionary engineering. .My newer car didn’t have this Homelink problem. All in all, I’m happy with this purchase

Llevo 6 meses de uso con este motor, contrate a un profesional para que lo instalara en mi casa, incluye un riel el cual me quedo un poco corto, asi que recomiendo medir bien antes de pedirlo, porque hay una extensiòn, a mi me cambiaron el riel porque me urgia instalarlo, es ruidoso pero no en extremo, se cierra en 16s, una vez instalado es muy facil configurar la app, hasta el momento funciona perfectamente, solo tener en cuenta que debe estar bajo techo o cubierto con algo, yo le mande hacer una carcasa de metal para que no se moje

Los componentes son iguales que los Merik de México, por lo menos el que tenía hace años, funciona de maravilla, trae todo para instalarse, riel y batería que no viene en la descripción, incluso voy a tener que devolver el riel adicional que había comprado para instalarlo, myQ me permite tener usuarios adicionales, dentro de algunos meses comprobaré que nose rompa algún engrane pero la verdad es que en este momento considero fue una excelente compra, vale la pena invertir en un profesional para la instalación del equipo.

My hubby was forever losing his remote for the garage door opener. Not only did we have to keep buying new ones, we didn't know where the old ones were or who had them, which also caused concern. So we decided to go the "smart" route. I will say this was a pain for my hubby to install, it took him and a neighbor 2 days. But that was apparently because the old homeowner did a lot of things himself and the old system was an odd size, so they had to cut this one to fit. But other than that, we have been very happy with this. It's awesome to use our phones to open and close it, and to get alerts when it opens or closes (you need them as you will never hear this open or close, it is amazingly quiet). There is a keypad outside the door for emergencies and to let service people into the garage. I had to use it once, when my hubby got an alert that the garage door was open while he was at work, and thought it would be funny to close it remotely to mess with me! I feel safer with a battery backup as I know I will not be locked out during a power outage. We would definitely buy this again, and will never go back to remotes. We didn't even program the ones that came with it. It was easy to set up the app, even for my non-tech honey.
