The system worked well after the first use but the second time I tried to use it the ball valve started leaking.Since i only need to refill my bottle every 1-2 months, the second time I filled was over 1 month after purchase. I contacted the company and they offered me $15 to repair it myself. It seems to be well glued together with thread sealant as a pipe wrench cannot remove this valve. They would not stand by their product.

It works but I wish it either had a check valve or shut off valve at the end of the hoseA lot gets wasted every time you change the cylindersYou need to vent the hose every time so all your CO2 in the hose is vented into the atmosphereI estimate every time I refill my 10 lb tank I lose two 60 L SodaStream cylinder refillsAnd to help anyone who is refilling their SodaStream cylinders make sure you freeze your cylinders firstThere are a lot of videos on YouTube how to do it I wish I would have found it first

Very happy now - but it took a while to understand how the process works. Don't rely on the instructions as it really depends on the type of CO2 tank you have.Somethings to note:- You want to fill up the empty SodaStream bottle with LIQUID CO2, not gas. Many large tanks are designed to operate upright and provide the CO2 in gas form to carbonate liquids in real time. NOTE that my new tank is UPSIDE down as when it was upright, it only filled them with gas. I will make a tank cart to safely refill them as this is sketch!- The braided hose is stiff and does not allow the SodaStream tank to rest naturally on the ground or on the scale. Not a design flaw, but a pressure requirement, I suspect, but making it difficult to measure the amount of fill without disconnecting it first (but doable).- It's loud when you have to depressurize the line after filling; my cats and wife hate it. Even louder when you mess up and the big tank falls to the floor and sends CO2 gas spewing in to the air uncontrollably!- Freeze your SodaStream tanks first. Refilling will be much faster and more effective.- I have 4 SodaStream tanks that I refill at once. Not worth the setup for me to do one at a time.Enjoy!

I have only used this to refill soda cylinders with the old style valves (without the anti-refill booby trap) so I cannot comment on how well it works for the rigged valves. It does however work very well for the old style valves. (you can tell them apart since the old style valve has a pin on top, while the rigged one has a flat circular disk)Make sure if you get the one with the gauge - CO2 is NOT filled by pressure, but rather by weight. I fill CO2 cylinders as part of my job so I know how it works. A full cylinder and a mostly-empty one will be at basically the same pressure, so a gauge is a poor indicator of the contents of a cylinder. Exactly why liquid CO2 in a cylinder behaves like this would take too long to explain, but know that if you fill using the gauge alone, and not a scale, you risk overfilling the cylinder. When you are filling a cylinder, place it on a scale and tare the scale to zero before you turn on the CO2.Also make sure your bulk CO2 cylinder is set up for liquid rather than gas. These cylinders will have a siphon (down tube) so that they release liquid CO2 which you need to fill the cylinder. If you are using a "beer keg" CO2 cylinder you must turn it upside down so that the liquid comes out. If you fill using gas instead of liquid CO2, it will not work properly.
