Well, if you want it to work properly, you have to buy the genuine article. This is, unfortunately, a fact surrounding printers that are sold relatively cheaply and followed up by a ludicrous manufacturer's overpricing of ongoing ink supplies. I've tried half a dozen off-brand alternatives and nothing gives the true color of the Canon cartridge. Grit teeth, purchase and write to your congressman about this rip-off.

Este cartucho tiene suficiente tinta para imprimir muchas hojas. El costo va acorde con la cantidad de tinta. Llevo años comprándolos.

This is the only cartridge I use for my printer. It is expensive but it is worth it. The ink lasts a long time and I have two members inmy family who uses the printer a lot. The ink can last up any where from six to eight months in my family. It depends on how often you use the CL-211 XL cartridge and your printer. My family uses the cartridge and the printer about every 2-3 months printing out travel e tickets, maps, printing out recipes, printing out on line shopping receipt, and documents. My ink is still have half full after the family members has done their printing. I gave the CL-211 XL ink cartridge five stars, for high quality and for putting extra ink into the CL-211 XL cartridge. I brought this cartridge last year in December and the cartridge still has a lot of ink in it. My printer and I like the CL-211 XL ink a lot. The cartridge should last until the end of Spring, beginning of Summer.

I love Canon and Canon products, so I stick mainly with them, especially with printers, cameras, and camcorders. These are at a lower price, slightly, than the local office supply store, and I get them delivered to the door for free with Amazon Prime. What could be better? I use only Canon ink cartridges because many years ago when I was just beginning with my use of computers, I thought that compatible inks would be a great way to save money. Long story short; I ended up having to replace my printhead which the "compatible" inks ruined. That was $75.00, and awful lot for a $125 printer, but worth it because it's Canon. Don't get compatibles. This ink is reliable, the color cartridge gives bright vibrant colors, and the black cartridge provides clear black printing that can even be highlighted with a yellow highlighter without bleeding. This last longer than the average cartridge, I think. I use it on a printer I have at school and it's much longer lasting than the ink in my old printer that was 10 years old--also a Canon. It didn't break, by the way. I just needed a printer/scanner/fax combo and this printer will know only Canon ink cartridges to keep it clean and running smoothly. Great products.
